Kayla and her best friend, Brianna, were texting each other at ten o'clock at night when she received a strange text from a blocked number. She thought, It wouldn't hurt to just read it. Oh, how terribly wrong she was! She opened the text message and read aloud:
Maria was abused, since she was a toddler. She would be eighteen, but unfortunately, she died at the age of twelve from the abuse. If you do not forward this to five people by midnight, she will be at the foot of your bed and take you away, and you will never be heard from again.
"What a load of junk! What are people thinking trying to scare people with a little fake chain letter?" Kayla blew the whole thing off and continued to IM Brianna.
When 11:59 P.M. rolled by, Kayla got a message that said "You were warned..." Exactly a minute later, a young girl, attired in a white dress stained with what appeared to be blood, appeared at the foot of her bed.
The next day Kayla's parents went to check on her. Kayla was not there. It happened just as the message said it would. She was never seen or heard from ever again. Remember, my dear child, to always forward chain letters.
