"Miss Raley!"
I snapped my head in the direction of the shout, momentarily forgetting where I was.
"Welcome back to Earth, Miss Raley. Nice of you to finally join us." My geography teacher stated. God, I hate sarcy teachers.
Thanks to Mrs Dudman, and her comment about me being in outer space, the immature students around me began to whisper hurtful words.
"Everybody, stay away from her. She's an alien!"
"That explains why her face is so weird..."
"Shut it" I snapped, and they laughed, in victory, for my outburst.
"MISS RALEY!" Urggh, I feel a detention coming on.
"Miss Raley, can you meet me in here at the end of school for a detention? I will contact your parents." It sounded more like an order than a question, to me.
"Miss..." One of the teacher's pets at the front said, quietly, with her hand raised.
"Yes, Jessica?" She replied, equally as quiet. Sure, go be nice to your favourite child! I thought to myself as I slouched back down in my chair and lay my head in my arms on the desk.
"Sit up and pay attention!" She shouted in my direction again.
I reluctantly dragged myself up, and leant against the back of the uncomfortable chair. This is going to be a long lesson...

At the end of the day, I returned to Miss Dudman's classroom and knocked on her door.
"Come in, Miss Raley." I heard her call. I opened the door and stepped inside and asked,
"Miss, can you please call me Alex, or Alexis?"
She scowled at me before standing up and walking around from behind her desk.
"Sit."
I did as I was told as she dropped about 4 books and a few pieces of lined paper on my table. I sighed as she opened one of the books to a certain page and continued to do the same with the rest.
"The questions you need to answer are in that book there," She pointed at a thin but tall book with small writing.
"The other books have the answers but you will have to search for those near the pages I have opened them to. Please answer on the lined paper, in full sentences." She explained and I nodded, not wanting to argue.
"I've got to go to a meeting now, so I trust you to leave when you have finished all of the questions. When you're done, please put the paper on my desk. And make sure you put your name on it."
She shut the door and left before I had a chance to ask or say anything. Better get started...
