My hands were shaking, I was sweating like crazy, still in shock over what the mysterious boy announced his name to be.
''Peter, Peter Pan, Pan,'' I whispered, letting each syllable fall from my lips, sounding foreign and unreal.
Pan looked at me, his eyes furrowed, almost as if he were questioning my sanity. He took a step forward, his brown eyes boring into mine. I shuddered from the feeling. He extended his hand, I looked up at him contemplating whether I should take his hand or sit here by myself and pass up on his offer.
''Take my damn hand Juno.'' His voice was stern, showing no kindness
Not wanting to anger him, I took his hand, letting my fingers graze his callused palms. Standing up I averted his gaze, removing my hand from his, and pulling them into my body. I was terrified of what stood before me, the lost boy of neverland, the original.
''Walk with me love, We have much to discuss.''
Not saying a word I followed him into the sinister darkness of the forest. Dawn was just now revealing its colors, Reds, yellows, oranges blending together to leave the sky ombre. Leaves crunched under my feet, dirt squished in between my toes. It was surreal how perfect it was, the smell of earthiness and various flower fused together to make a beautiful blend of nature.
I hadn't noticed I had fallen behind till peter spoke up,
''C'mon Love, can't have neverlands new chew toy getting lost.'' he said calmly
......chew toy?....
The forest started to thin out, the trees began getting more spread out as we strolled down the path. Then Pan stopped, he turned towards me, eyes glowing a venomous green.
I began to shake violently again, as the realization of the situation began to sink in, no more grandma, or mom, or anyone else. I knew I wouldn't be missed but it still scared me.
Peter once again stared at me before he spoke,
His words littered with bitterness'' there's no way home Juno, no escape, you left one hell only to enter another. Neverland is not a place you should underestimate, its a vile and cruel home, but you have forever to learn, and forever is a long time.''
He paused gazing into the distance like he was searching for something that wasn't there. I looked up at him, only a boy, not fully a man, yet he was much older than I. I chuckled lightly at the thought of him being much older than I.
He spun on his heel and continued walking and as he went peter told me his ''ten commandments''
1. Never go out at night by yourself
2. Do not steal
3. Always carry a weapon
4. Training begins at exactly sunrise on every third day
5. Do not address me as a comrade
6. You must have one of the lost boys accompany you when you go to falls [BATHING SITES]
7.Jobs will be done as they are assigned
8. My cabin is off limits
9. Respect those who have been here longer orders
10. Do not go to the south cave under any circumstance
He blabbered on and on till finally he looked back at,
''Are you even listening you stupid girl'' he seethed looking at me
I nodded which was a lie but it was pointless
We neared an opening in the brush, as it came into view, my jaw practically dropped in awe of the pure beauty of it all.
In the center of the clearing stood a huge tree, dotted with lights, that almost looked like fairies, Surrounding it on one half were many cabins, some bigger than others, but all had a unique attributes, on the other half was a bonfire blazing brightly, small shacks and tents dotted the area. Paths branched off in many directions, each probably leading to neverlands mysteries each one different from the next.
I stepped out into the clearing only to be met by the staring eyes of 10-15 boys all of different ages. Tiny whispers spread through them,
''A girl?!'' each of them said as if it were the most unreal thing in the world''
Peter stepped into the clearing, and the whispers ceased, peter held a tight grasp, like a thread holding boulder, it had to be small but strong.
''Meet Juno, our lost girl!''
Silence filled the air, each person thinking intently of the announcement just made.
That's when it went dark.
