They forgave each other that night and slept in bed together again.
The beeping of Rukia's phone woke them both up. A hollow was near. It wasn't as big as the hollow by the river but it was still big.
Without a word, Ichigo jumped out of his body and Rukia out of her gigai and they went to battle the hollow.
It was by the park, and it was chasing the spirit of a little girl who was barely able to run away. She fell, and the hollow was about to eat her soul when Ichigo stopped it's jaws with his sward.
"You're days of eating souls are over, ugly." he said with a smirk.
The girl ran over to Rukia, who had decided to stand back and let Ichigo fight this. She had a feeling that he needed to defeat this one himself.
As Ichigo was about to split the mask, another hollow showed up. It was almost as big as this one.
"Ichigo, you finish that one and I'll take on this new one.'' Rukia instructed.
Both of them defeated their hollows easily, then another one showed up. They groaned in frustration.
Rukia started to take the hollow while Ichigo sent the girl to Soul Society.
She was about to kill it when it took her whole body into it's mouth.
Ichigo screamed her name. Horror passed through him like wind through the leaves, slow and cold. He wanted to torture the hollow before killing it but he couldn't move. The fear paralysed him and glued his feet to the ground.
He stood with tears rolling down his face when the hollow suddenly roared and the disintegrated. When the dust was clear, Rukia stood there, looking crazy, but to Ichigo she was the most beautiful thing in the world.
He ran to her and hugged her tight.
" Are you OK?" he asked frantically, pushing her away from him and using his eyes to check for wounds.
   "I'm fine Ichigo. Don't worry. I just..."
   "What? Tell me!"
She laughed. "I need to brush my hair fool."
He hugged her and started breathing again.
They got home without anymore hollows and went to sleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow.
