Kyle's POV
It was my first day at Harrison High, as a teacher of course. I wanted to teach at a University but there were jobs available so high school was the next best thing. I just graduated college and I stayed an extra year.
I got in the silver Chevy my mom had bought me for my senior year in high school. I pulled into the school and walked into my room. I sat my stuff down at the table and class after class I got stares and smiles and girls twirling their hair around their finger.
I was getting tired of this whole routine. Finally it was lunch and I was ready to go to eat and get out of that class. I walked through the line as I forgot my lunch at home. Lucky for me I was stuck into two girls who felt it was necessary to stand close to me as possible. When I paid even the 50 year old lunch lady winked at me. Yippee.
I sat down at the table and noticed a girl with dirty blonde hair. It barely fell under her shoulders. She smiled and I couldn't help but smile at the way she laughed. I felt ashamed. She was a student and I was her teacher. It needed to be a purely professional relationship.
Sixth period came and I was disappointed not seeing the girl. Then one of the girls in the lunch line walked in and took a seat closest to my desk. Perfect. I learned her name by attendance. Georgia Winters. "Kloe Adams?" I called out. I heard a girl sat here. I looked around trying to find where the voice was coming from. I saw a small hand raise out of the second row. It was the girl from lunch. I smiled at her. Idiot. I could've swore her cheeks were getting red, but that couldn't be. Let it go Kyle, you're never gonna get her.
I started asking the students questions, what a mistake. When Georgia stood up I knew I was in for something. She seemed pretty calm. But then she said she thought I was cute. I felt so sick.
When it was Kloe's turn I gave her my full attention. I loved her voice. I'm glad science was her favorite subject. I heard Georgia mumble teacher's pet. I looked at Kloe, she just ignored her. I guess their not on good terms.
Then Georgia asked if I was single. That was crossing the line. I told her not to talk about it but she was persistent. Finally I had enough of her, she needed a detention.
When class was over I knew I couldn't wait till tomorrow to see her again. "Kloe? Do u mind staying here for a few minutes?" She smiled at me. "Sure Mr. Arias." I loved her voice. "You can call me Kyle after hours." I smiled. I knew I was gonna get nervous. She replied by saying my name. When she asked why I wanted her stay I had no idea what to say, I'm awful at lying. I told her I wanted to sort some papers. Hopefully that would work.
But then after a while she left. She called me by my last name. I told her she could say Kyle. She nodded and walked out the door. I knew I couldn't have her. That was it
