"Agh. Stupid!" I look to my brother who is just laughing. I can't believe I crashed my car again on Forza 6. It's December 12 2022 and I am 14. "Come on Jonathan, you have to do better." "Whatever. I'll win. Hey you think I can convince mom and dad to buy SAO?" "Really? After what's happened you still want it? I mean you can't log off." "I know but I really would prefer being there than here. Besides, they don't know."
"Please dad! It's on sale for like $20 and it used to be over $3000! We could get four and I'll show you!" "Ok fine. I'll get it but I won't stay in there." I smile. I did it. I get to see what SAO is all about.
"Link start!" I suddenly see things flying by me and then see a language button. "Cool." I choose English being American and all. Then I see the customization place for our Avatars. "Mom will be mad but I'm going in as myself." I create my Avatar to look exactly as I do IRL. "Ohh, black or red? I'll do both. Cool! Hope this'll get me some friends." I push accept then I am suddenly spanned in a huge old time looking city. "Hey A.J.! You like my Avatar?" "Yeah, wait. You look exactly like yourself." "Uh duh. Of course I would! Wait, you look like yourself too." "I shouldn't. What's going on?" "Must be a glitch or a bug. This is so cool! Oh hey mom! Hey dad! You like it? I mean talk about graphics! "Did you really have to use yourself son?" "Yes dad. There is a glitch though so we all look like we normally would." "Do I have wrinkles honey?" "No mom you look fine. So come on let's go walk around!"
This is awesome. More than one way for me though. I can actually walk, no more stupid wheelchair in my way. I think mom and dad are really enjoying this too. I see this tall man dressed in red who looks like he knows his way around. "Excuse me but do you know where to eat? I'm hungry." "Really kid? You've been here before its right over there. Some ladies hanging around there too. You don't look to familiar." "Yeah this is my first day here. That's my family back there." The man gives an astonished look then whispers to me, "Are you crazy kid? You know there is no logout button?! If you die you are dead." "Uh, kinda. I thought it was just a fake scare though." No logout button. Ha! Yeah right, I open my menu tab but see no logout. "No, please no....." "Look kid, since you have your family I'll help you out." He looks at me then transfers some money. "3000?!? That's enough to buy a house!" "It's the point. Go to a peaceful floor and buy a house." "T-thank you so much. What's your name?" "Oh, me? I'm Klein. You ever need anything my friends will help. Look for Kirito if you need serious help.

That was over two years ago. Now I search for Kirito in the game ALO. As I look for him the memories come flooding back, the very reason I keep living.
