Lauren's P.O.V
I walked into Westfield High with my hood down and my sunglasses on. I had to tell Camila the truth before she found out from someone else. The guilt had been eating away at me. I had handled those teenagers, but could I hide the truth forever?
Sooner or later she would find out, and once she did she would leave me. Like they all left me.
I spotted Camila in the corner near the lockers. She stood with her new friends, chatting away and laughing. It made my heart warm. The same Camila who used to be broken had healed and blossomed. Maybe I was good at helping people. Obviously, I had caused pain and misery, but I hadn't meant to. I liked to think I had changed.
Maybe if Camila stayed with Normani, Ally and Dinah she would live a normal life. I was far from normal and Camila deserved better, not a fucked up psychotic freak.
This love story wasn't romantic, Camila could be something. And I was preventing that.
Before I could walk away from the crowd Camila noticed me and waved frantically.
What was she doing? I couldn't have anyone spot me!
Before I could escape she grabbed me and pulled me into a hug. Her friends walked over slowly looking confused. I hid my face hoping they wouldn't recognize me. My face clearly showed panic.
'Camila, is this your girlfriend?' Normani asked trying to see underneath my hood.
'Yeah, I told you guys I wasn't imagining her! Lauren take your hood off' Camila said, still having me trapped in her embrace.
What was I supposed to do? I was stuck. I couldn't run away and I couldn't refuse to show them my face.
'Camila I really need to go-'
Before I could finish, Ally had pulled my hood off from behind me and the girls stared at me once my face had been revealed.
My heart dropped. There was no way they wouldn't recognize me. My face was probably implanted in their brains. Everyone in Westfield High hated me.
'Wow, how have I never seen you' Dinah said continuing to stare.
'Are you guys sure? She looks familiar. I swear I've seen you before' Ally mumbled trying to recall where she knew me from.
I swear if she dared open her mouth, I would cut her tongue off.
I gulped and was about to reply when Camila spoke up.
'I told you guys, she's in our mathematics class'.
The girls nodded but Ally seemed uncertain like she believed there was something more to the story.
I quickly said goodbye and moved fast running out of the school. I couldn't let this happen, I couldn't lose the one I loved, not again, not yet.
*Flashback*
Constance had been finishing up the dinner. She was looking forward to eating at home for once with all her children. Even Lauren had agreed to sit at the same table as her. This was rare considering the last time they had sat together was when Lauren was arrested for possession of cocaine.
She was about to call Lauren when the doorbell rang. It broke out into punches on the door like there was an emergency.
'Yes I'm coming, wait a second' Constance shouted rushing to the wooden door and opening it.
In front of her stood a group of officers alongside the S.W.A.T team.
Constance couldn't believe her eyes, why would these officers be here? Had they found out about her husband? No, of course not. That was old news. This had to be about Lauren. What had she done now?
An officer stepped forward pointing his rifle at the elderly woman.
'Does Lauren Jauregui live here?' He asked holding up a passport photo of a young Lauren.
'She's my daughter, why? What has she done!' Constance screamed as the officers raced upstairs their guns held out in front.
Constance raced up the stairs. Her beautiful daughter, what could have happened. She had to get her out of the house. She couldn't stay here.
The door had been slammed through and guns were held in Lauren's face at point blanc range.
The teenager carried a smirk on her face, as she laughed at the men. She put her hands up slowly, blood dripping down her fingers. She smeared the crimson liquid on her face as war stripes.
'You think you could stop this?' Lauren screamed at the men.
'I've felt nothing but pain from the moment I came out of that woman's womb'. She yelled pointing at Constance while tears rolled down her cheeks.
'My dad was murdered, my brothers and sisters were ostracized in society'
'And all because of you shitheads'
'Yeah I shot them, I shot them all. I fucking loved every second of it. Seeing the blood pouring out, their last facial expression. I was helping them! And you! Are you not thankful? Fuck you all, there's no turning back'.
The officers held their guns in case Lauren attempted to move. Their main priority was to make sure she didn't harm anyone else.
Shooting 5 teenagers in a school library would land her life imprisonment, and she was fully aware of that.
'You think you could stop me? You can never stop me. Even if you killed me, I'd be back'
'You're a monster, it's like you're not human' one of the officers said his face showing horror at the girl's words.
'All monsters are human' She whispered before she attempted to punch the officer closest to her. Before her fist could make the connection, a storm of bullets fired at her.
Her body fell limp and blood left her mouth painting her pale lips. She looked up one last time, taking in her death. Lauren wasn't scared, these men thought they had ended her. But she would now stay around forever. A grin became plastered on her face as she recalled the pleading of those she had shot this morning. It was like a lullaby to her. They would suffer, and she would be the reason for it. Humans had the power to end lives, those who didn't take it are weak. Lauren was not weak. She was sick of being weak, and now she could never be called weak ever again.
Her death would be memorable for many, but she didn't know that. No-one knew a young girl was capable of causing all that terror. It would shock the nation.
Constance's cries echoed the hallways of the Murder House. She had lost the only child, who could have been something. She had lost that fragment of her heart. The child who she held big dreams for, of all her children Lauren was the able one. She had been blessed with green eyes and a beautiful figure. She could've been anything she wanted. But she was stripped of that by the wretched house.
She knew that Lauren couldn't die, not when she was in this house. She would rot away for the rest of eternity in these walls.
Lauren would never receive that peace, of knowing she was dead. She would hang around like a corpse, observing those who were miserable. And anyone would say, that's worse than death. The idea that someone could never die.
