Chapter 3

9 YEARS LATER

*Beep beep beep*

Her alarm was going off. "Ugh, 5:30 already. Can it be summer yet?" Anniston rolled out of bed and put on her leggings, sweater, and boots. She went to the bathroom and started fixing her hair and makeup, with her hair already being naturally curly, she didn't have much to do.

On the way to school, she swung by McDonalds and got a sweet tea and a chicken biscuit.

"You coming to my winter wonderland this weekend right? " asked her best friend Harper. "Of course, I wouldn't miss it for the world! Do you know how many hot guys are coming?" "Oh shut up Anniston. All you think about is dick. " "I do not! I think about how sexy they are. Now shut up and walk me to class!"

That Friday as they all were sitting down in class gossipping about who was lame and wasn't, a super good looking guy came in.

"Well everyone,  I would like to introduce Jaxson Bevil. Say hey everyone. You can sit wherever an open seat is."

Of course the only open seat was next to Anniston. While Jaxson was walking to the seat, Anniston dared Harper to ask him to come to the winter wonderland.

As class ended, Harper yelled out to Jaxson. "Aye,  Jaxson. Since you're new and everything,  why not get to know the popular kids by coming to my winter wonderland. Its in the country all weekend."

"Yeah, sure, I guess I'll go. Text me your information. Here's my number 9124468920."

"Great, we're all meeting up at Wal-Mart at 6. Don't forget it, or you'll be left."

As they walked away, Jaxson couldn't help but stare.

"Mom, I'm going off with a friend for the weekend!"

"Jaxson, you just got to school for the first day today. How do you already have plans?"

"I can't help I'm good lucking Mom."

Jaxsons mom threw the rag at him and told him to be safe.

At six, everybody was at Wal-Mart. "Is everybody ready!?" Yelled Harper. "Partaaaaaayyyyyy! Wooooo! "

They all loaded up into the cars and drove off. When they got to the cabin, everybody got out and started unloading the vehicles. "Dinner is at 8." Harper said. "Great, who's cooking? " Nathan asked. "who normally cooks the first night?" Anniston replied. "Woot woot." Every first night, they get take out from Houlians.  Everybody loves that place because it's cheap, but a great meal!

After dinner they all settled down and decided to play truth or dare.

"Anniston you go first. Truth or dare?" "Dare obviously.  It's the first night and first person!" "Okay, I dare you to....strip and run around the house naked." "Done."

After a few of the people went, it was Harper's go. "Okay Harper, truth or dare? " Christopher asked. "Dare." "I dare you to jump into the pond." "What? No way. Its to cold. She'll freeze." All replies from her friends. "Okay, lets go." "Harper, are you crazy?  Its 30 degrees. The water has to be colder than that!" "Anniston, you only live once. I'll jump in,stay for a few seconds, and then get out and run in." "I don't think it's a great idea." "I don't care. I've never backed down from a dare before, and I'm not starting now."

All twenty of them walk outside and watch Harper dive head first into the water. A few minutes later they still haven't heard from her. So they started screaming her name. "Somebody go in after her! Christopher you go. It was your dare! " Anniston finally jumped in the water. "Aniston! Stop! " She tried and tried, but she couldn't find her. "Uhhh....guys....I f-f-found her..." Alex stammered.
