Hidden behind the truth

Chapter Six

'I feel as if my body was made of lead. I can't move. Somebody...anybody...help me.' I thought to myself as I slowly tried to get up, but only managing to get two inches before falling back down on the...bed? No it's not a bed. It's more like a soft floor.

'Clink...Clink' A sound? But from where? At this point my mind was set on panic mode and the clinks slowly got louder and louder. "Am I going to die!?!" I asked as the clinking grew to a stop.

"No...I wouldn't do that to you. I couldn't do that to you." Replied a raspy voice. The clinks began to move once more but this time I decided to let them come closer since I knew they would not hurt me...I hope.

A shadow emerged from the right side of me. It was a person wearing a hoodie that covered their face. "Who are you? Where am I? What" I was cut off by the person who pulled off their hoodie. I stared shocked before I then noticed a big shadow behind them. A shadow of wings? I returned my attention to them still in shock of who I was talking to.

"I know you have alot of questions to ask, but I only know so much" Nikki said smiling as she started to mess with the chains around her wrists. There was also one around her neck all of them seemed to be connected to something behind her. "These are pretty annoying to have on" She said as she pulled on the one at her neck.

"Nikki?! Someone better tell me what's going on before someone's ganna get hurt". She just looked at me before a small chuckle escaped her.

"Can't really do much when you're not even able to get up Avery" She chuckled. She slowly sat beside me. "This isn't real for one...it's a dream or...a vison. Something in that area. Be it yours or mine. I dont really know, but you..." She looked at me.

"Nikki. WHAT.IS.GOING.ON! It is a simple question and a dream won't cut it! AND WHY CAN'T I GET UP?!?!" I screamed as I struggled to move.

Nikki shut her eyes and laid down. "It's time for you to wakeup, and...Avery" I stared at her shocked before I was jerked awake. 'A dream?' I wondered to myself.

My mom stood over me looking worried. "Thank goodness you're awake! Are you ok? You were mumbling about chain's and you couldn't get up" my mom sighed as she sat down next to me on my bed. "Nightmares?" My mom asked. Before I could reply she spoke "I use to get them to. As a matter of fact I still do. Avey... what was in your dream? Do you wanna talk about it?"

"Mom I am fine. Look at me it's all good. One little nightmare won't scare me" I lied. It wasn't a nightmare until the end. What 'Nikki' had said shook me.

I didn't go back to sleep that night I stayed up watching tv waiting for the sun to rise. 'Should I tell Nikki my dream? Does she already know about the dream?' Thoughts swam through my head as I pondered what the dream 'Nikki' had said.

"It's time for you to wakeup, and...Avery...I'm not Nikki". Blood started to dribble from her mouth then her eyes, but she acted like she didn't notice it. Instead she smiled sadly at the ground. "Avery...save me".

So...man its been a while. I never did find my cat. So sad. Anyway I know this book may be confusing like about the whole rock thing but it will make sense later in the story... (I hope). Thank you to those guys/girls...humans...organisms who actually read this book, and though it's not the best I try to do my best writing it.
