Forever lost

Preface

Vampire, a word that would make the 21st century girl tremble at the knees and offer up her neck quicker than you can say “I don’t sparkle, I burn bitch!” You see back in the days of my everlasting youth the word vampire was cursed with the devils name and whoever was a “Vampire” didn’t get peacefully laid into their coffin, no they were nailed into it with their decapitated head at their feet, not a pretty way to go out. There a lot more effective ways to take one out, but the people of those days didn’t really feel like experimenting with various weapons that might or might not get rid of their vampire problem. If they had they would of realised that a good old stab in the heart with something shiny and sliver would of pretty much done the job, but stuck up there ass rich Victorians wouldn’t want their precious silver ware covered in blood so decapitation was a good as death  could get for vampires.

But of course holding them down was going to be tricky, so was catching one without getting your fucking face ripped off, with the strength of ten men and being able to move so fast that no human could see you run out the door, humans had to get some tricks up their sleeves before they could stop vampires from sucking people dry in their villages. One of the tricks was the fact that vampires burned in sunlight so hunting them by day would be a lot easier, but even then it wouldn’t be a smart idea. Vampires didn’t exactly stand out of the crowd, they were pale but abnormally pale, they had beauty but that beauty could be stunningly human, and graceful movements were that of a dancer ‘s, there was nothing that’s really strange about that.

Though still there were little things about them that would catch them out, and only a human who had a very watchful eye would notice it. The eyes, they were bright and any light that hit them, candle light, light from a fire even sunlight, they would go completely sliver. They weren’t too noticeable if you didn’t know what you were looking for, but if you did then you knew exactly what you were dealing with and how much shit you were in. Not only did the eyes give away their true being but the teeth did too. Though the fangs weren’t showing the canine teeth are still pointed strangely and were slightly longer than usual. How did I know all this? Well I am one, but fortunately for all humans that are near me I have a little bit of a soul so there necks are ok, for the moment.

Vampires can be separated into two groups, one much larger than the other. The first were the soulless vampires that would have no doubt in the decision to rip your throat out and lap up your rich red blood off the floor. Gross yet true, they were the evil side of my kind then there was the not so good but better than the other side, the ones that would have a doubt about that kind of situation. They do have souls or a conscience or whatever the hell you want to call it. Why are they different to the others? Well, before they were changed into vampires they had more than human blood in them; they had to have a stronger blood, say witch blood. As long as they had an ounce of that they could hold onto a few strands of that pesky soul during the transition stage (usually the stage that your 6 feet under the ground and all the people you ever knew think you’re very dead) and be different to the average vampire. They’d still have the painful thirst but they had more control. My sister’s and I are stuck with souls, lucky for the humans around us.

Still, just because I have a conscience that bites me in the ass every time I do something wrong doesn’t mean I can’t be bad…..
