Chapter 3: I Win ;)

Tom’s POV

I remember the first time I saw her; she was endlessly more beautiful than any other girl. I resented the fact that my own brother never realized this; he had more attention from her than from Lana. She always averted herself elsewhere, particularly other guys. I’ve tried telling Austin thousands of times but he never listened. He was too much in love with her to let the girl go.

She looked up at me; the moment our eyes met I felt a shudder run down my spine. She was so shockingly beautiful, and different.

“Why are you here?” her voice was a soft whisper.

“You.” I whispered just as low, pushing up the cup holder in between our two seats. My fingers brushed over her own, craving for her touch.

“Th-that’s not an answer.” She sputtered like before, nervous.

I went to her, teasing her senses with much delight. “It is for me.”

She sighed rather lustfully just as her body broke in goose bumps.

I looked into her eyes; half lit by the big screen the other hidden from my prying curiosity. “Do I make you nervous?”

“L-leave…Please.” she was wary and shaky. Her eyes fell from my gaze, looking at her playing thumbs objectively as her blond hair became a curtain that she hid behind. I sat up impulsively, leaning toward her bowed head. Slowly I pulled her hair behind her ears, letting my fingers linger down her jaw line to her small chin. I pulled her face toward mine, our noses touching.

Her eyes fluttered open, making her big eyelashes brush over my cheeks in butterfly kisses, revealing her beautiful blue-ish green eyes. They shifted between my eyes and my lips, and for the slightest moment she moved forward causing our lips to almost touch. She was so close she made my heart pound in ears.

"I really want to kiss you." My brain unconsciously spoke.

She leaned away from me, her blossom cherry lips perfecting a smile. I stared at her, confused. And then she whispered so low I thought it was my pure imagination. “I win.”

“What?” I stared at her in disbelief, if I heard her right I didn’t want to hear it again.

“I.Win.” she said it louder this time. “I told you I was going to get you, and I have.” Her eyebrow cocked upward. She leaned forward; there was this stare in her eyes which made her more sexy than beautiful. “I got you good.” There was this edge and cruelty in her voice. I instinctively moved forward, drawn to her sickly sweet voice.

“Do you really wanna play this game?” I asked, giving her my most husky voice. She shuddered, I smiled.

She came closer, staring at my lips. “You don’t fool me,” her eyes met mine, and for a second the entire world stopped. “And this game began the moment you prank called me, Fabio…” there was a slight pause as she examined my expression. “I know what you’re trying to do-”

I cut her off, “What is that exactly?” I said, truly fascinated to know if she knew my intentions.

“You act different, very fickle in your own way…to me your this sweet boy next door, but in front of others, you’re rude. You tease me and you hurt me over all. But you won’t know that, will you?”  She bit her lip, so deep in thought. The long silence hung above our heads. She suddenly smiled rather remorsefully. And then in one swift movement she got up and walked out, leaving me dumbfounded and shocked.  I was wrong about her, she did know. And it bothered me greatly to see that I could possibly lose her.

I followed her out the cinema, walking behind her gliding footsteps until I took her hand in mine and spun her toward me. She stared at me with glazing eyes, there were tears on the brim of her eyes.

“Oh,” She cooed “Does the big bully want more of my tears?” she snapped, stepping closer.

“No, I just wanted to say I’m sorry, I never meant it, I was just being stupid, but yet again what boy isn’t?” I rushed to my salvation.

“Save it.” She responded.

“Why are you acting like this?” I couldn’t understand where she had gotten this new attitude in such a short period of time.

“Like what?” again her voice held its edge, but I could hear the venom drip from her lips. Her voice sounded like it was almost daring me to do something, anything to her. But I can’t. I couldn't.

“Listen, I want to make it up to you-” I couldn’t finish, there was this look in her eyes. Like she wanted me to go off this cliff I was sure I wasn’t going to survive. But looking into her eyes I couldn’t possibly care, I was ready to jump.

Her brow arched perfect, giving me the final push.

“Do you wanna go-” Beep. Beep. I cringed in fear. I hadn’t realized Rachelle and I were in the middle of the road. I took her hand and walked onto the sidewalk under a lamp post. I looked up at her; her eyes were bigger and brighter. “You missed most of the movie; do you want me to bring you home?” I put on my most delicate voice, trying my hardest to not seem like a creep. I saw a twinge of the old Rachelle in her eyes, but they shifted and went back to the glazing eyes.

“I never took you for the sweet type.”

I couldn’t help but smile, she forgave me.

“Yeah, could you bring me home, please.” She was normal again; he voice was its soft sweetness.

My smile became bigger the moment she laced her fingers in my own. The warmth and softness of her touch sending chills down my spine. I leaned closer into her, my lips brushing her earlobes. Then in my smoothest most sensual voice I whispered, “I win.”

She reached out to get me, but I was on the football team, so of course I can run faster than her. But she didn’t stop there, she kept chasing me past my car to a near bye tree, where we had substancial amount of space between us.

“Actually,” she breathed in and out, exhausted from running, “I win.” And there in her fingers she held four keys. One of which belongs to my car, the other two to my house, and one for the shed.

My heart broke inside, she has my car keys. “Rachelle, be a good girl and toss them over.” I said in a sweet but exasperated voice.

She slowly began backing up as I walked forward.

“Rachelle.” I dragged the name.

“Yes, love?” She faked the innocence.

There was a silent exchange of words between us, onto which she seemed to have the upper hand. Her finger brushed over the car keys, pressing the unlock button. My black Camaro beeped to life. My heart stopped. My eyes shifted between her and the car, and the moment I saw the sly smile creep on her lips I booked it towards her, but she was way to close. So the exact moment I got to the door she locked it. I have no idea how many times I cursed at her but she was unscathed by it all.

“Rachelle, I am asking you nicely, open the car. PLEASE!” the last word was strained.

“I think I might take it for a ride!”

“NO!” I nearly yelled.

She smiled and nodded simultaneously. But then she blew her breath upon the glass window, causing it to fog. Seconds later it read:

I win ;)

If she wanted to play this game, she better bring her A-Game, cause I ain’t going to lose especially when my car is on the line.
