"I have measured out my life with coffee spoons" - T. S. Eliot
I quickly shove my feet into my worn hightops not even bothering to tie the laces. As I yank my phone from the charger next to my dresser I catch a glimpse of my hair. Shit.

"I could say the same for you!"
"Hey! Some people had to visit coffee bean vendors this morning thank you very much!"
"I thought dad usually did that," I say giving her a quizzical look.
"He called me early saying he wasn't feeling too well so I filled in for him."
"Oh," I glance back at my dad.
"Why are you chattin it up with me anyway? Don't you have somewhere you need to be right now?'
"SHIT! I almost forgot. School!"
"THATS ANOTHER DOLLAR IN THE SWEARING JAR, BERNADETTE!" I roll my eyes at my dad. I swear he has bat ears or something.
