"The Maliks" a what seemed like nurse called to us. We all jumped at the last name.

"That's us." Zayn slightly raised his hand.

"Ah, so I have news on your mother." the nurse said while flipping through her clipboard, Zayn bit his lip, and Doniya fiddled with her fingers.

"Yes, tell us. please." I asked politely.

"She is still in a coma but were expecting for her to respond in a minimum of 2 days." the nurse said all professional like, and walked away.

I looked towards Zayn, and he couldn't even look back.

and for Doniya, she was patting Zayn's back.

"She'll be okay. I promise." I whispered quietly to them both.

It's been a day and a half, and the doctors said shes doing good so we expect her to wake up soon.

We were currently in the cafeteria finishing up eating.

"Guys, I'm gonna step away and call to check on Annabelle." I lightly smile, and walk away.

Zayn only nods and Doniya whispers a 'okay'.

*Ring-Ring-Ring*

"Come on Li, pick up." I mumble.

*Rin-*

"Hello." I hear the Wolverhampton accent answer. I smile.

"Hi Li."

"Athena! Hi, How are you guys. any new updates?"

"No not yet, doctors still say she's doing good, and Zayn is tearing himself apart." I shake my head even though he can't see me.

"Well, all you can do is be there for him." Smiling, I mumble 'I know.'

"Where's my little sunshine? I miss her dearly!"

"Eleanor and Danielle just took her out for ice cream- ah, wait here they are!"

"Annabelle someone's on the phone for you!" Liam sing songs through the house.

"Hewwo?" I hear my sweet Bradford accent that I've missed so much.

"Darling, mommy misses you so much!" I tear up.

"Mommy, Annabelle misses you much toooo!" she copies while giggling.

"I'll be home very soon, okay? are you alright?"

"Wes mommy, I have ice cream , and Wiam plays with me."

"Good baby." I smile to myself, wishing I could hold her in my arms.

"mommy?"

"yes, darling?"

"is daddy gonna be okay?" she questions more sad than normal.

"oh, darling. I'm not sure, but I promise we'll be home soon." I start to tear up even more. this is the longest we've been away from eachother.

"Otay momma, well me and Wiam are gonna go play dungeons and dragons now. imma be the princes." she says proudly.

"Okay, mommy loves you." I giggle at the playful, happy child.

"Wuuv you too momma, byee" *click*

"goodbye darling." I silently cried, but wiped the tears and got back to the others.

"How is she?" Zayn asked.

"She's good. really good." I smiled.

and so did he.

for the first time in a long time.

"How are you?" I asked him , as we walked back to his moms room.

"Scared, terrified."

"That's understandable, but whatever happens I'll be right here. Everything's gonna be alright." I smiled, remembering he used to tell me that as kids..

*Flash-Back*

"Zaynie, I'm scared." I whispered into the phone at age 14.

"Babe, it's just a storm, Everything's gonna be alright." I smiled lightly, as my bestfriend would always tell me that. and he was always right as long as he was there to protect me.

*Flash-back over*

Zayn looked towards me, and smiled lightly. I guess he remembered too.

"It's your turn." Doniya smiled as she walked out of her moms room.

Zayn looked at me.

"Go. I'll be here when you get back." I smiled at him.

"Come in with me."

"Zaynie, you need your time with her. I'll be okay." I re-thought it.

"No, Athena. I think he needs you this time." Doniya smiled.

I took Zayn's hand and stood up, quietly walking into the room.

"Zayn.." I tired voice had said.

I looked up. Trisha!

"Mum!" Zayn's broke I tears and rushed to his moms side. I smiled at the sight.

I haven't seen her since Zayn and I had broken up.

"Hello, Trish." I smiled, as she looked at us both confused.
