I saw the bus get closer and closer, the wheels spinner uncontrollably. The brakes screeching as loud as it possibly could as I took my last breath. The panicked driver and I simultaneously closed our eyes and squinted as a deathly force hit me. I shed a tear that burned my cold cheek. Then everything went black.

I woke up on a road, not just any road but Wilkton road, the road my childhood best friend died on 20 years ago. I felt a happy warmth inside of me when I realised that the journey had been successful. Had I really just travelled back in time?

This was unreal. I stood up, looked around and absorbed all the old memories of that year. This year. 2016. Out of all my gazes and nostalgia, I suddenly remembered what I had sent myself to do. I felt the preparation in my bag; my old diary, thousands of old pound coins and notes, my phone, my bus pass and most importantly, the plan.

"Shit" I said in my strong British accent, looking at the screen of my phone that displayed the time; it should be the same time here as it is in 2036, but not the same date. I sprinted anxiously to the hotel where I had planned to stay and I quickly got to work; if I was going to do this, I'd better get on with it.

I still can't believe that I made it. It's unbelievable. To be honest I have no idea how it actually works, all I know is that it just works, but I guess that's all I need to know. In case you're wondering, I kind of helped invent the machine itself. Well, when I say help I actually mean signing some important paper work then giving out brews and biscuits to inventors nearby. But anyway, all the staff (including the less important ones like me) had a priority to be the first few people to travel, other than safety checkers and scientists of course, so I planned a bit then took the chance to change, to change my life.

This is just the start ;) carry on for more!
