Chapter One: Back for You

"I'll be coming back for you" -Back for You by One Direction

Aubrey's POV

I can't believe I finally got my first job as a dancer. Yeah, I had a minor job at a local performance company, but oh my gosh, I'm going on tour with THE biggest boyband in the ENTIRE world. One. Freaking. Direction.

I'm sitting on the edge of my bed, putting my heels on. I'm going on the last date with my boyfriend, Austin, before I leave for London. But... He doesn't know that. He just thinks it's a normal date. Just a normal date, just sitting outside of the most expensive restaurant in town, eating unhealthy junk because we can't afford much else. I don't even know how I'm gonna tell him. Just straight up say "I'm leaving you for 10 months to go hang out with 5 of the sexiest guys on the planet and travel the world and probably forget about him and find a hot Australian man and fall in love." Oh fudge, I got off topic again. Aubrey, focus. You can do this. I take a deep breath and walk out the door, grabbing my phone and house keys before heading down to the train station.

"Austin, I have something to tell you"

He looks at me like I'm insane, then goes back to his bag of Cheetos. He doesn't know what's about to hit him.

I take a deep breath 

"Austin, I got a job, dancing"

He doesn't even look up from the plate of food he's shoveling in his mouth.  

"Don't you already have one?"

Goodness he can be so dumb sometimes.  

"It's a better job."

"Do you get more money?"

"Yes, Austin, I get more money. And it's also a little further away from home."

He finally looks up at me.  

"How far?"

My heart starts racing really fast. I look around, trying to find something to focus on, but I'm too scared to tell him. I finally take a breath and answer, 

"It's worldwide. I'm going on a tour with One Direction. I'm going to be gone for ten months."

His eyes widen.  

"When do you leave?"

God, the one question I didn't want to answer.  

"Tomorrow." 

I can't even look him in the eyes.

He takes a deep breath in, processing the situation before he finally bursts out, 

"TOMORROW?!? YOU LEAVE TOMORROW ?!? AND YOU DIDN'T FREAKING TELL ME?!? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!? I CAN'T EVEN HANDLE THIS RIGHT NOW! I NEED A DRINK!"  

He gets up before walking across the street to the pub. I run after him, kicking my heels off and carrying them in my hand. I get in the pub and find him at the bar, already half a beer gone.

"Austin, you need to let me explain."

"Explain what? That you're leaving me for six months and you don't have the courtesy to tell me until the day before you leave?"

"No, Austin" I say, before sitting down next to him and grabbing his hand. "Explain that I didn't even know until earlier this morning and I never got a chance to tell you until now because you were out with your friends. I really wish I could've earlier but I know that you always leave your phone at home when you go out with your buddies and I had no idea where you were. But I tried to tell you as soon as I could. I promise, Austin. I would never put this upon you." I looked into his eyes. All I could see was hurt. He pulled his hands away. I just stared into his eyes. I felt a hot tear burn down the side of my face. He stood up, still staring back into my eyes. He took a step towards the exit, but then took three steps towards me and kissed me.

"Aubrey, I'm going to miss you like hell but I promise I'll be here waiting for you"
