I wake up to the same stale air as every other day. The room, or closet, I'm in is pitch black. Sitting up on my mattress that's frame is made out of cinder blocks. I can hear the rats in my vent as I stand up.

It's today on my 17th birthday in the Metro that I join are stations milita. I am to go to one of are neighboring stations were my Uncle is the stations milita leader. This is my first time leaving my station named harvest. I have never been to the surface, and the darkness I have only seen once when they got to are gates. That was six months ago though. They haven't got past are scout outpost since then.

I walked out of my room to find my best friend Ray standing in the corridor "finally you're up" he said. We walked through the market to the armory, where we got armed with our gas masks to protect us in radiation zones and we filled are pocket medical cases. Then we grab our home made ammo and metro made guns. We start walking to the corridor that lead to the carts to take us to Civil station where my uncle is.

We climbed on the small cart. It is me, Ray, a teen about my age and a older man named Jon. I pull out my gun "Bastard".

We now arrive at the inside of are gates. It opens with dust and we see the darkest black I have ever seen. We all turn on our head lamps, to our suprize it didn't light up much around us. Our cart starts moving again I feel so excited but scared for I have just left the only place I have ever been in my 17 years, for the first time I have left harvest.
