Answer Me: Prologue

November 12, 4097

Life as we know it has changed drastically, from the time man first stepped on the moon to today. Life was taken so lightly these days, not minding the frailness of life itself. How, in a blink of an eye, that life that you knew..would be gone. How every day was a step towards the end, the future, the rest of our lives.

Nobody notices the risks anymore.

They say that a long time ago, long, long before I was born, things were a lot simpler. 

If you wanted to get somewhere, we learned that people used things calls "cars" and "trains" and "airplanes". It amazes me how simple those people were living like back then, when they thought they were the most advanced they could possibly be.

Think again.

Our world has grown so much since the year of 2012. That day, death day, the 21st of 2012. That was the day Elron was born. 

Elron. No name before that, or after. The boy was simply named Elron, and no records shows any identification with any other name. 

He was unbelievably smart.

Otherworldly smart, at 4 months old he began to walk. At year 1, talk. By year 2, Elron could read, write, and express his thoughts to others in extraordinary ways. He could show people what he meant, through their minds. Nobody knew why, or how. Elron was put through 143 tests in total, his parents trying to figure out what went horribly wrong with their son. They believed their son was cursed. What they didn't know was that it wasn't a curse.

It was a gift.

By age 5, Elron was in grade 8. It shocks me to this day how he made it in life so fast, and why he hadn't slowed down. Elron was rocketing past everyone at full speed. Even at year 5, he was best in class. 

Elron graduated high school at 10 years old. Not many regular schools excepted him, but when he finally found one that did, he finished. And fast. Soon he was offered full scholarships from every single college in the world. However, Elron rejected all of them.

On December 31st, 2027, Elron made a speech in front of the world. He wasn't nervous, in fact, he showed no emotion at all. He stood as still as a stone, and spoke.

"My name is Elron. I'm sure most of you know me, but in truth, not many people really know me. You all see me as smart, beyond smart. You see me as an overachiever, and you see great things for me in the future. You wonder why I do what I do, and honestly, I don't know either. I don't know why I'm different. I don't know why I know all of these things. And when most of you think that I know everything..." he paused and laughed silently. "I know nothing at all." 

And with that, he left. And no one saw him again. 

From that day on, time stopped, and the Earth stood still. 

Scientist endlessly debated on the tragedy that happened. The Earth was no longer in orbit, it no longer revolved around the sun. It was like someone had pressed the PAUSE button on Earth's remote. 

Panic erupted through the world. All you would be able to hear was how Japan was suffering from chaos, or how all of Europe was in lockdown. How America was going into shock.

I guess you could say that the day Elron left, the world really changed. Or you could say that when Elron was born the world changed. Maybe, you could think that when we started tweaking the world for our own personal benefits, we started the changes.

82 years later, a fatal disease broke out. 

A disease that affected trees.

The same trees that gave us oxygen.

Soon enough, the population of trees went down by 1,000,000,000 trees in a month. After 3 months, there were only about 1 million trees on the Earth.

And that wasn't enough.

People began to die from loss of oxygen, lung poisoning, and a new disease broke out. 23X. 23X was a disease that spread from the newly made oxygen that came from the trees. Since they no longer had the right materials used to make the air we breath. This new oxygen effected those who didn't have the resistant to the new oxygen, now called Oxygen-Zero....OZ.

 At this point the world seemed to be at it's last stage. With the world population dwindling, we were giving up.

The president declared Worldwide Shut-Down Day to be December 31st...the last day of the year, now scheduled to be the last day of life.

(A/N: December 31st is actually my birthday XD Hehe!)

Everyone would be forced to take a drug. You would take it, and after an hour you would be asleep.

You wouldn't wake up either.

Apparently, this was the solution. It would end suffering, everything. 

And just when the world was about to end their lives, just before we would end it all...guess who showed up?

Yeah, I know right? Who would have thought...
