HPS (Chap 5)

Read the enlightened truth please, it's really good but she stopped uploading it quite a while ago due to lack of inspiration. Maybe if she gets a sudden wave of comments and likes she'll start writing it again?

-------------

(A month later...)

That night I dreamt that I was in a box. I had a helmet on and the box drove around like a car. I drove around diagon alley until It started raining Hogwards acceptance letters and Ice Cream Sundays. A gigantic bear and Proffessor Snape jumped out and started tap dancing to an orchestra played by giant evil edjumcated (educated for boring people...) dragonflies! Then evil night monsters came and devoured us all.

I woke up and looked at the time: 5:47 Why am I up so early AGAIN!? Geez what is it with me lately? Then I remembered: HOGWARTS!!!! Today I had to go to the train station and to platform 9 3/4, wherever the heck that was. I hopped up out of my sleeping bag and grabbed my trunk. Flute didn't have a portable cage, but he could fly next to me or sit on my shoulder.

I took my trunk outside and sat on it, waiting for Snape. Suddenly, I heard the familiar POOF that told me he was here. I looked behind me, and he was standing there.

"Please grab my arm and your things and hold onto me tightly." Snape said, holding out his arm. "We are going by apparition." I grabbed his arm and my trunk and I saw Flute wrap his talons around the other handle of my trunk. Suddenly, we poofed away.

It felt like I was being torn and broken and squished and molded like clay, but all at the same time. It didn't hurt, it was just extremely unpleasant, and made me swallow a little barf in my throat. I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS it's so gross...

Anyway we apparated, as it was apparently called, to a train station, and I fell to the ground, slightly panting. Many muggles were roaming about but then Snape told me to go to platform 9 3/4 or something. I was about to ask him where that was but he disappeared again. I walked to platform 9 gripping my trunk (It had wheels oh yeah!) and Flute hopped up onto my shoulder.

I asked a man where platform 9 3/4 was but he looked at me like WHAT THE HECK you crazy person and walked away. Thus began my interviewing of random muggles to find the platform. I think someone might have called the mental hospital so I was in kind of a rush to get to the, obviously muggle- hidden, platform.

I went up to a bright red haired kid, looking to be about 12 or 13.

"Hi, might you tell me where platform 9 3/4 is?" I asked. An identical boy came up next to him and smiled.

"I dunno George, should we tell this lovely lady where the platform is?" He asked George, jokingly. I was kind of stunned.

"I believe we should, Fred." George said.

"Follow us!" They told me. Yayy! I found someone! I followed them and they led me to a brick wall.

"Go through it." They said.

"Is this a joke?!" I asked, furious.

"No!" They protested. I should have known they weren't wizards.

"Arrgh!!!" I was about to just leave, but suddenly they pushed me into the wall.

I screamed, expecting to smack into it and damage my head. Instead I just went right through it and stumbled into the other side. They appeared behind me with my stuff, looking a little embarrassed.

"We're sorry," Fred apologized. "But no one ever believes us, it was the only way." I was kind of angry, but not really, because they were the only people to help me and they didn't seem too bad.

"Nah, that's okay. I assume your Fred and George? I'm Katlyn, but call me Katie."

"Why Katie? Katlyn is a nice name." George asked.

"Well, I guess I'm just lazy in my own special way." I said, smiling. "I'll see you on the train!" I walked off with my stuff towards a giant train. I climbed on and looked for an empty compartment. I was really late, though, so there were none. I went into one with two boys and a girl. I recognised the girl from Flourish and Botts, I think her name was Hermione. The two boys appeared to be stuffing themselves with candy.

"Hey, can I sit here?" I asked, and they nodded. I shoved my trunk on the shelf and sat next to a boy with bright red hair, really similar to Fred and George's.

"I'm Ron Weasly." He said through a mouthful of candy. "Who are you?

"I'm Katlyn, but call me Katie." I told him. The boy across from me introduced hiomself as Harry Potter. Harry struck me as kind of familiar, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. It was really annoying, so I tried to move on.

"So Ron, do you know anyone named Fred or George? Because your hair-"

"They're my brothers." He interrupted, obviously getting that a lot. "Want a chocolate frog?" I nodded and he gave me a octagonal box. Before I could open it though, I noticed Hermione staring at me oddly.

Her eyes flitted from me to Harry like a tennis game, even though we weren't talking to each other, her face screwed up in consentration.

"Uhm... Hermione..." Ron said. "You okay? You look slightly constipated."

"Hmm? Wha- oh! I'm fine. Katie just looks... Familiar. Wait- did you call me constipated??"

"No..."

"Ugh. Whatever." She said, slightly disgusted. "Anyway, so Katie, where did you come from?"

"Wh-what?" I asked, not sure how to respond.

"Oh! Sorry. Before you came in we were all talking about, you know, life. My parents are muggles. Ron is a pure blood, and has 6 siblings. And Harry defeated the one and only Voldemort!

I was confused. She must have seen it on my face, so she started explaining to me what pure-bloods and half-bloods are, and all about the horrible rein of he-who-must-not-be-named, aka Voldemort. Harry and Ron jumped in somewhere, Harry adding quiet comments, Ron using gigantic hand gestures and spitting candy everywhere. Once they were done, hermione came back to the question of my life.

"Um..." I started. "I live in a potions store in Diagon Alley, in a storage closet..."

"Really? I sleep in the closet under the stairs at my place. Rather stuffy isn't it?" Harry responded.

"I know, right? Finally someone notices."

"You both must have horrible parents!" Hermione exclaimed. Way to make this awkward Hermione.

"Um... No parents?" Harry reminded her. She blushed.

"Oh, right. Sorry. Well, Katie. What about your parents?"

"Uh... I... Never knew them. They both died when I was still mostly a newborn... I grew up in the care of the potions store owner, Mr. Kingsley, taking donations from random wizards."

"Oh I'm so sorry!" Hermione cried.

"Hey, that guy sold me potions stuff!" Ron said. Still eating candy.

"My parents were killed too, about that age. I grew up in the care of my horrible aunt and uncle." Harry said quietly. "We have a lot in common."

"Yeah, you two look alike too." Ron noticed. "With, ya know, hair, and eyes..."

"And skin color and posture and face structure..." Hermione continued. Noticing it, we DID look a lot alike. Hmm, cool. Already found my look alike.

Hermione left soon, mumbling something about a toad, and and all too soon, the train stopped and I had to go franticly change into my robes. I heard a THUNK and I realized I had an unopened chocolate frog in my pocket. I opened the box, and the frog jumped out. I caught it though and ate it. Mmhm chocolate. I took the card out of the box, good thing Ron showed me what they were.

I held it up to the light and read the name, Dumbledor. I think Harry got one of these. I stuck it in my pocket and walked out of the train.
