The carriage stopped at the mansion and Lucy got out with an umbrella so the rain wouldn't hit any of her dry clothing. She walked along the pathway and up the small set of stairs to the chestnut doors that went into the mansion. Arthur, Crawford's personal butler opened the door for Lucy and she walked in and took her umbrella down and gave it to Arthur.
"Good evening Ms. Thorne." Arthur said softly quite afraid of the woman.
"Good evening Arthur." Lucy said then walked up the wooden stairs. The mansion was beautiful, chestnut wood for the floors and dark red wallpaper on the walls. Many chandeliers in the rooms were lighted to make the mansion have a dark tone.
Arthur quickly followed the female Templar up the stairs and went in front of her to open the double doors into Crawford's private room. Lucy walked in silently and found Crawford behind his grand piano playing a beautiful melody. Lucy didn't talk since she loved hearing Crawford play. She bit the inside of her cheek when he looked up at her.
"Ms. Thorne, how is Sir Brewster and the progress?" He asked.
"Sir David will have results tomorrow Crawford, I made sure of it." She said and watched as Crawford stood up and walked towards her.
"I wanted results 5 days ago Ms. Thorne." He said with a sigh.
"Yes Crawford but if he doesn't have the results tomorrow I will put an end to Sir David." She said looked up at the man.
"I need those results." He said then flicked his hand for Lucy to go away. She obeyed and exited out of the room only to see Arthur have a note walking towards her with an unpleasant look on his face. Lucy walked past him but stopped when Arthur went in and closed the door. She snuck up to the door to listen to the conversation.
"What is it Arthur?!" Crawford growled, already not in his best mood.
"It's Sir David, He's dead." The butler said trying to be brave but failing.
"What of the piece of Eden?" Crawford asked not caring about the old man.
"It exploded and took the whole factory with it." He said. A few moments later she heard Arthur's footsteps and she quickly hid behind a half wall when Arthur walked out. Crawford's screaming in anger could be heard throughout the whole mansion as he punched his desk. Lucy sighed and made her way to her bedroom that was across from Crawford's. She walked in and locked the door behind her. Lucy took her hair out of the up do and let her red wavy curls fall down below her shoulders. She got undressed and took a warm bath.
It was 11:00 pm before she could go asleep, something bothering her thinking there was more to the explosion and the death of Sir. David.
