Dippers Tragedy 2 - The Demon Within

Insane?

There was a silence, mabel hesitated to ask the question but she finally came to doing it, "Grunkle ford?" Ford looked up, a slight tear rolling down his face, "yes mabel" he said while trying to hide his sobs, "i... I think I'm. Insane" ford looked at mabel wide-eyed, "you think you're what!?" Mabel was looking down at her knees, "its just that i keep hearing a voice and no one else can hear it" ford looked confused but in thought at the same time, then, ford arose to his feet, "mabel follow me!" Mabel got up and followed ford. He took her to the second room in the basement; fords study, once there he took her to a small desk where a metal helmet lied, there was a long, thin bar along the front of it which had a hint of a green glow, the helmet itself had rust and cobwebs on it. It was as if it had not been used in years. Underneath the helmet were two claws, each spaced the length of the helmet apart. At the end of the claws were five small suction cups which had wires connecting to the inners of the cups. Mabel looked to ford who walked over to the helmet and picked it up, "its called the 'mental state stater' it can tell your mental state, its either: good, bad or insane. Ford smile but mabel looked unsure, ford walked over, "i promise it wont hurt" mabel sighed and and shrugged, "go ahead, Grunkle ford" ford then placed the helmet on Mabel's head. It began to make noises and the long bar began to glow green, it was testing Mabel's mental state.
After five minuets, there was a loud ding and the bar died down to a lower green, ford walked over and looked at the bar and nodded his head, "well mabel, you are NOT insane" mabel smiled but also looked puzzled, "then... Why do i hear that voice?" Ford shrugged and then removed the helmet from mabel's head and placed it back on the desk. Mabel thanked ford and then walked to the elevator of the basement, she then sighed, "foooorrrrrd i don'tknow the passworrrdd" ford laughed and then told her the password, mabel then entered the password and then walked into the elevator and went to the top floor.
Mabel walked into the gift shop where she saw Wendy reading her magazine, "hey Wendy" mabel said, her voice filled with sadness, "wassup Mabel, you look upset" mabel then sighed, "i thought i was insane but then ford said i wasn't because he used a weird head thingy and it said no but i kee-" Wendy then cut mabel off, "woah, woah, you're going way too fast Mabel" mabel sighed and turned around and whispered to herself, "i know..."
She walked upstairs to her room, looking down the whole way. Once in her room, mabel jumped onto her bed and planted her face into the pillows. She just lied there silently, suddenly she heard the voice, "why are you sad mabel?", Mabel shot up and went to a sitting position, "who are you!?" Mabel said shouting but trying to keep quiet, "oh, you don't remember me?" The voice said near on mockery. Mabel shook her head. The strange voice laughed, "its me..."
