The gasp that escaped my lips was unintentional. The silver blade was dug deep into my chest and all the hunters did was grin. I let the blood fall onto the floor. What did I have to live for? A mate that was married to my other friend? A mate that didn't even know?!
"What's up, girlie? Missing your mate?" One teased as I fell onto my knee's.
"He doesn't know. Your helping me out." My word's where barely above a whisper and they slurred together. The hunter just stared at me, shocked.
"You must love the guy a hell of a lot to let him go like that." The one on his left said, sorrow in his voice.
"More than you will ever know." He stared at me in awe.
"That is actually nice." He whispered. I whimpered as the pain become a level of unbearable. "It is OK. It will be over soon." He soothed me.
"Thank you." I whispered, the tears falling fastly down my face. "Thank y-you s-so m-much." I stuttered, stumbling over my words. He gently trailed his thumb over my cheek.
"If I had known, I wouldn't have helped."
"I-It's a g-good t-thing you n-never k-knew." My vision blurred. I felt his tears over my hands.
"I wish you would have told me. Then I could have said no." I smiled weakly at the hunter in front of me.
"I would have died soon a-anyways." I took a deep breath, but breath back out painfully. "H-he is g-going to m-mark her. T-that means I w-will d-die unhappily." The hunter just smiled weakly at me.
"I can't believe I'm going to say this, but you just made me give up my job." I laughed weakly, before coughing. I placed my hands over the knife. My hands shook as I grabbed the knife to take it out.
"DON'T!" Aaron yelled, bursting into the room. I smiled weakly at him.
"I-it's t-too l-late, A. I-I L-love y-you." He ran towards me, his arms circling my body and holding my weight. Tears began to race down his face as his hand hovered over mine.
"Chlo, I love you too. Don't, please. Let the doctor save you. Please." He begged, his tears splashing onto mine. "Please." A weak sob left my mouth.
"I can't! I c-couldn't d-do that t-to you!" I sobbed harder as it became harder to breath.
"Please, Chlo! I love you, please. Don't do this. Please." His voice had fell to a whisper, as the hunter just stared in shock at us.
"I-I am so sorry!" The hunter broke out into tears, watching us. "I am a terrible person!" Mitch came, taking the hunter away and muttering words to him.
"Chloe, I love you. Don't." My breathing staggered as my hands left the knife and cupped his cheeks.
"I have to." He shook his head, leaning his forehead on mine.
"Your my best friend, Chloe. And my mate, OK?! I love you, and I always will!" I smirked weakly at him. He leaned forward's, kissing me. "I love you." He muttered on my lips. I felt my grip slacken on him as my head began to spin and the pain got worse.
"I love you so much." I said in a sturdy voice. "Aaron, just remember that, OK? I love you." He shook his head, his grip tightening on me. More tears traced his flawless face.
"Don't, Chloe! Don't leave me!" He was shouting, his grip on me tightening. I could hear people rushing into the room. "Don't you dare! Just don't!"
"I-I l-love y-you, A." My voice was weak, even I could hear that.
"Your not going to leave me, Chlo!" He was yelling now. "DAD! Help!" I smiled one last time at him. "CHLOE! NO!" I felt all his tears fall onto my face as he cradled my body. "You c-can't leave me!" He sobbed uncontrollably. "You just c-can't." I felt my eye lids flutter shut, my breath hitching.
"Come on, son. Leave the paramedics do their job." I could hear Mitch, and he was trying to pull Aaron away.
"NO!" He yelled at him, his grip tightening. "I'M NOT LEAVING!" I could hear more sob's from him as someone else put their arm's around me. "I l-love you." He kept repeating over and over.
I could feal my heart beat growing slow, and my wolf howled inside me one last time.
'Bye, old friend.' She whispered sadly to me, pain in her voice.
'Bye.'
Before my whole body shut down, I heard the long beep and Aaron's sobs increasing.
'I love you, Aaron. Always have, and always will.'
