Everyone is happy when Master Makarov announces that they all need a day off. Master Mavis, surprising everyone by her sudden appearance, demands everyone spend the day at the guild for a pool party. Everyone happily works together to make the food nad decorate the backyard. Gray and Juvia teamed up to bake some goods, and Natsu and Lucy stuck together as they helped others decorate.

(Let's check on Gray and Juvia first, shall we?)

"I'll make the best strawberry cakes you've ever tasted!" Erza announces proudly before rushing to the kitchen to start. Everyone starts teaming up to get things done. Juvia is suddenly found attached to Gray's arm, "Gray-sama! Wanna work together to bake something with Juvia?"

Gray kisses her forehead, "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Juvia rushes him to the kitchen, where Erza can be seen completely wrapped up in her work. There's already flour everywhere, and somehow she's already managed to change into her swimsuit with an apron over the top. Gray doesn't take the slightest notice in the slightly frightening red-headed girl. His concentration is on the beautiful water mage in front of him.

"What do you think we should make, Juvia?" Gray asks, pulling out a cookbook and flipping through it. Juvia grins, "Gray-sama bread!" She cheers. Gray chuckles and plants a kiss on her cheek, "I love the idea, but maybe we make something a little more everyone friendly."

Juvia smiles, "Okay!"

"This looks good." Gray points to a recipe for funnel cake. Gray knows he's had it before. He's been to a handful of carnivals over the past few years. Juvia looks at it, "Juvia's never tried it before, Gray-sama."

Gray quickly makes sure to remember this, "It's good. You'll love it." He then turns around to start gathering things out of the cupboards and cabinets. Juvia, accepting Gray's recommendation, helps by finding the ingredients while Gray gathers the tools. Gray is considerably better at baking than Juvia, with the exception of bread, shows Juvia what to do as he makes the first batch. Once showing her how to do it, Juvia's face goes alight with determination as she starts on the next batch while Gray works on frying the batter. He watches her carefully as she follows the directions in the cookbook beautifully. He accidentally burns one of the funnel cakes, and he blushes at his mistake. Why the blush? Because he was staring at Juvia. Her positive outlook and determination to do it right just completely captivated him for a while there.

(Now to see how Natsu and Lucy are coming along with decorations.)

Lucy was interested in helping decorate. She went over to Natsu, smiling, "Hey, Natsu, wanna help me decorate?"

Natsu couldn't say no to her adorable face, "Sure." He gave her his trademark grin and the two went outside. Master Mavis was randomly able to supply decorations in multiple boxes that she placed around the door. Natsu and Lucy go fishing for things in one of the boxes. Lucy comes out with all sorts of good ideas, "We should hang streamers up along the fence." She thinks aloud and pulls multiple different rolls of the colored paper out of the bin.

Natsu just holds stuff up, and she either approves or disapproves. She gives Natsu a worried look when he pulls out a skull, "How about this?" Natsu's face goes alight with excitement, "Cool skeletons to go around!"

Lucy gently rests her hand on top of the skull and pushes it back down into the box, "Natsu, it's not Halloween." She adds kindly. Natsu knows she didn't mean it personally, so he just continues to pull out random things that he declares as awesome before putting them back.

Lucy has a bunch of stuff piled up, and she drags Natsu over to the very tall fence that lines the backyard. Lucy has to sit on Natsu's shoulders in order to hang them up. She's very grateful when Natsu doesn't joke around about her weight or mutter under his breath about where Happy is when he needs him.
