I haven't seen Luke since last week, we've been sending the odd text back and fourth to each other but nothing more. Beau and Jai have been around a lot though, I think they think my flat is some sort of getaway for them, their company is great though - the lonliness is starting to get to me a little. 

I know that Beau is still worried about me, espeically after Luke mentioned something to him about Adam. He's still managed to keep it quiet though, it seems strange finally having someone who I can trust. However, I didn't tell Beau everything. I'm still sticking with the lie that I moved here to work for my aunty. Telling him that I'm basically on the run from Adam would only worry him more. So, it looks like I'm going to have to actually come up with some genuine excuse as to why I can't hang out and not just fake a job anymore.

I picked up my phone and dialed the number for the smoothie place that we were at a few weeks ago. Luckily they have a vacancy open and have asked me to come by tomorrow for an induction. 

The next day, I woke up around 7ish and did my usual of checking twitter. As I was scrolling down I notcied Jai had replied to someone who tweeted a picture of him and Luke laying either side of the couch.

My heart sunk looking at it. The way she used 'my', like she had some sort of ownership over them. Although, Jai's tweet kind of cheered me up. He clearly wasn't too keen.

I've never really liked her if I'm brutally honest. She was nice at the start of this whole thing but she just needs to give it a rest now and leave Luke alone. Beau and I have been trying to get Luke to move on for so long and every time he does, she swoops right back in and he falls for it everytime! 

"What we doing today then?" I asked Luke, looking up from my phone.

"We're going to the mall" Anna tuned in.

"Are we?" Luke said, looking over at her and then focusing his attention back to his phone.

"Well yeah, I don't want to sit around all day!" Anna replied.

"Okaaaay" Luke said, rolling his eyes. 

"I guess I'll go see what Beau's doing then..." I said, sensing the tension in the room.

I grabbed my car keys off the kitchen counter and headed out the door, locking it behind me. It is so much easier now having a car and not having to rely on buses constantly. However, it did drain my bank balance a bit (well, the money my dad gave me) so I guess getting this job is pretty much essential right now.

I cautiously walked into the smoothie bar and was greeted by a friendly middle-aged woman.

"You must be Lilly?" The woman said, holding out her hand.

"That's me" I replied, gently shaking her hand.

"I'm Tracy, the boss, come with me and I'll show you around" She politely said, gesturing me to follow her.

She showed me around the bar, telling me where everything was kept and how to work the smoothie machine.

"I'm sure you'll catch on quick how everything works around here, you seem like a bright girl" She told me, resting her hand on the counter. "How about you do an hour trial and we'll see how you like it."

"That sounds great" I told her.

"I'll go grab you a uniform" Tracy said, wandering off.

The uniform she gave me was a baby pink t-shirt with the smoothie bar's logo printed on it, then a purple apron to tie around my waist and black trousers. I changed straight into them and followed her instructions.
