Life-giving sun burns with passion, energy, and rage
Untamable and unquenchable, fighting its way through the mist.
Guiding stars light the way with their joyous fire
Dancing though the night, glistening with the hope of a child.
Romantic moon, radiating with a comforting glow
Fading away and returning to sight, but always present.
Guardian mountains silently stand sentinel over the earth
Monolithic protectors, everlasting beacons of stability and awe.
Fragrant flowers blanket peaceful meadows and color the terrain
Rolling hills, endless prairies, and sacred groves cradle their delicate frames.
Temperamental oceans crash on pure sandy shores
Gentle caresses and torrential wrath displayed in powerful waves.
Homely cities stand with their sky-reaching buildings towering over the land
Gleaming with dazzling lights proudly displayed at night.
Crumbling, destroyed, decaying towers; shattered pieces of broken light
Impenetrable fortresses felled and even glorious monuments failed to stand.
Living things have long since made the docile waters their graves
Pollution poisons the feeble oceans and kills innocents by the scores.
Corpses of orchids and daffodils alone stake claims
Trampled, scorched, and salted is the once lush plain.
Unstable ground quakes, cracks, and opens its voracious jaw
Completely consumed are the silent guards, no longer of any worth.
Dead to the world, the shaded moon is spent
All that has become of love is woe.
Tethered became the now gloomy stars turned mild
Leaders no more, frozen spirits waiting to expire.
Lively flames have been extinguished, no longer desiring to exist.
Everything has perished, and so ends another age.
My sins will never be gone.
I walk on.
