(Souls POV)
I was walking through the moonlit cobblestone streets of death city, on my way towards the small fish shop Blair recommended to me.
"Hey Punk!" I heard a deep voice yell behind me. I stopped in my tracks and I turned around slowly and saw a small group of about five or six men in matching leather jackets. All looked as though most people would be intimidated by them, but not me, I'm a sythe. If they think they can beat me up, they're wrong, humans don't stand a chance against me.
"Yes?" I said in a monotone voice, unamused by their bluntness. My response must have triggered them to approach me.
"You can't cross our area without paying the fee, so pay up." The tallest and most muscular one extended his hands and curled his fingers to indicate for me to give him my food money.
I chuckled and turned back around. "You can't beat me." I turned my right arm into the slick red and black blade.
"You see, I'm a sythe."
I glanced over my shoulder to see they're expressions, but there wasn't a soul in sight. Heh Soul. Heh. Puns. I transformed my sythe arm back into my leather coated arm and continued walking.
For intimidating guys like those, you'd expect them to not be afraid of a 13 year old. I smiled at that thought.
I arrived at the small shop, not so far away from the little 'episode' back there. A man with blonde, buzz cut hair popped in front of me.
"Hello there! What can I do for you?" His overly loud and annoying voice caused me to flinch back.
"I'm a friend of Blair's. Can I get a pound of small raw shrimp?" At the mention of Blair's name his eyes extended and turned into large pink hearts.
"Sure thing! Anything for a friend of Blair's!!" He darted off behind the red curtain and came back in a moments time with a brown bag.
"How much do I owe you?" I asked as I reached for my wallet in my back pocket.
"Oh nothing! Just have a nice night." He pushed the bag into my hands and rushed behind the curtain. Strange.
I was walking back to Maka and I's apartment when I noticed Kid with Liz and Patti heading towards our apartment.
"Hey Kid!" I called to the Striped-haired boy.
He turned around at the sound of his name, his golden eyes set on my and a small smile set on his face. Kid wore a red and black symmetrical shirt with casual black pants and his normal black shoes. Liz wore a half- hoodie and a pair of dark, bell-bottom jeans, and a pair of red converse sat on her feet. Patty wore a pink puffy-shirt thingy with a pair of light, denim shorts and black sneakers.
I finished running over to the small group.
"Hello Soul." Kid greeted. Patty and Liz mumbled small hello's.
That seems oddly peculiar, usually Patty would be bouncing off the walls and screaming at me. But both her and liz were slouched over and dead-looking.
"Hey,are you two okay?" I asked the two sisters standing on each side of kid.
"Yeah, we're just tired is all." Liz said, her head rising slightly, just enough to see her bloodshot eyes.
"Kid kept us up all night taking measurements so he can make a blueprint for making us more "symmetrical" " She almost seemed to spat at the word.
"Okay, well you guys can come in, I was just getting some things for dinner." I motioned towards the door and held the brown bag under my armpit while I dug in my back pocket to find my keys.
I found them and opened the door. I also wonder why Kid likes symmetry so much, I mean it's just, you know, symmetry. Why symmetry?
