(Maka's POV)
As I rose into the sky, relief flushed over me. As I had many emotions running through my head, only one stuck out from the rest. Pride. I had defeated the Kishin.
( 1 week later )
"Hey Soul, can you grab some shrimp when you got the time? I need some for dinner tonight." I glanced over to the small cat curled up onto our red sofa, then brought my glance back over to Soul. "Unless you want Blair to cook." He looked up, his expression almost in fright.
"I don't think I can handle any more burnt fish dishes." He stood up from his laid-out position on the table and went into his bedroom. "The sooner the better, Soul!" I yelled to him through the walls. "Don't worry, I'm on it." He reassured and popped out into the living area, a black leather jacket now covering his red and white baseball shirt.
"Okay, I'll see you in a bit." I smiled at him, but he returned it only with a half-smile. Classic Soul.
"Bye" the door shut behind him and the apartment quieted down greatly, the only sounds were Blair's purrs. But another sound overpowered it, cries, and they were extremely close.
Quietly walking towards the noise, I followed the noise to no other than Cronas door. The sobs were exotic and sounded painful.
Crona hasn't been doing so well lately. Ever since he got skewered by meduca's arrow, he's been paranoid and often screams in his sleep. I have been the only person who seems to calm him, mostly because I can grasp onto his soul wave length. His soul wavelength is not as dry as it used to be, but sometimes other personality traits will pop in briefly.
"Crona?" I knocked on his door quietly. The crying stopped for a moment, just enough time for me to hear him whisper "Maka...". He sounded so pained and weakened.
The door was unlocked so I slowly opened it. As expected, he was tucked away into the corner next to his bed. The pink hair slowly started to incline to reveal his face. His eyes were sunken into the sockets and his cheeks were hollow. He looked so lifeless, so..dead. The sight of him made me want to run onto the highest mountain and scream profanities into the empty sky. It just killed me inside.
"Hi Crona." I relaxed my shoulders and took my usual place next to him. I slung one arm over his shoulder and instantly he wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me tighter. His actions surprised me, and in response I started rubbing soothing circles into his back as he continued to sob.
"Maka!" He rose his head and shed fresh tears from his tired eyes. He nuzzled his face into my neck, seeming to take ultra comfort.
"Don't worry,Crona. I am here for you, and I won't let anything happen to you."
"She's in my dreams again." Crona cried aloud. I wish I could make all these nightmares go away, just so Crona could be happy. Silence filled the empty air for a few minutes.
"Crona, would you like something to eat?" I looked over to his desk and noticed his dinner had been untouched since last night. "I can see you wouldn't want food with flies in it." I giggled and gestured to his desk. A small smile formed at the corners of his lips. He released me and faced me, his face looked more life full than before.
"Yes please!" He giggled. A smile also crept onto my face, it was nice to see him happier.
"Okay, Soul is out buying some shrimp for dinner. Do udon noodles sound good to you?" ( A/N: Udon IS a Japanese food, I suggest you try it!)
"Sounds good, but I've never tried it. Is it good?" He half-smiled.
"It's really good. I think you'll like it." I smiled and stood up. I made my way towards the door, still smiling, but stopped in front of it. I slowly turned my head around and saw Crona looking down, as always, but this time he was....smiling.
"You can come out whenever you need to. But remember, tonight we have Kid, Liz, and Patty staying over for dinner." Suddenly the sound of bones cracking filled the small gap of silence, and out popped mini-Ragnarok.
"You should have gotten that Tsubaki girl to do the cooking instead of you, you ugly cow!" Ragnarok yelled from across the room. I giggled at his mutant voice and pulled out a piece of melon candy from my pocket. I waved it in front of me, while I had a smirk on my face.
"Tsubaki is staying over on Friday night, her and Blackstar are on a mission to destroy Arachnephobia's old castle. When they get back we are holding a small get together to have some dinner. Now, be a good little Ragnarok and I will give you this candy if you go back in Crona." I still smirked, knowing he can't resist candy.
"Fine." He huffed, leant forward and opened his mouth to reveal this extremely long tongue and pearly whites. I unwrapped the small, green candy out of the golden wrapper and popped it into the demons mouth.
Ragnarok let out a small moan from the sweetness of the candy.
"Okay, now remember our deal Ragnarok." I sighed and leant against the door frame, as I waited impatiently for Ragnarok to leave Crona and I.
"Fine." Cronas back arched and the painful sound of bones cracking returned as mini-Ragnarok went back inside Cronas spine.
"Okay Crona, do you want to go out for a walk after dinner?" He stood up and made his way over to me, his knees wobbling slightly. I extended my hand and he delicately placed his boney hand into mine.
"Okay, let's go."

FanfictionThis isn't your usual 'Life of a Teenage Girl' crap. One, it has nothing to do with boys or cute clothes. And two: being a teenage Meister might be harder than I thought.
