You smile up at Dark as he caresses your hand gently, a small sweet smile on his face that you just couldn't resist. You pressed your lips softly against his as he wraps an arm around your waist, pulling you closer to him.
For some reason, you found yourself in a field, the sun kissing your face and hair with a tingling sensation. Dark's eyes shone a light honey colour as they reflected the sunlight and something about the way he looked was just...different. But it was a good different. Everything was just so perfect. You looked away from him, your eyes connecting with a strange figure in the distance.
"Dark, who's that?"
"Who's what, babe?" Dark gives you a weird look and you frown as the mysterious figure gestures for you to come over. For reasons you couldn't explain, you began to walk towards the figure, his features surprisingly familiar. You open your mouth to ask who he is, when the world starts to shake and the earth under your feet falls away into nothingness. The last thing you can remember is the man's strange but beautiful icy blue eyes.
You wake up with a small frown as sharp, loud voices assault your tired ears. The effects of your dream wore off almost immediately, quickly being replaced with a new kind of fear. Dark and Mark were shouting at each other. You warily slid off your bed and walk down the stairs toward the noise, being as quiet as you can. Peaking around a corner, you see Mark perched on the red leather couch and Dark standing on the other side of the room, facing towards the window.
"I love her more." Dark continued, his fists clenched tightly to his side and his back rigid. Something about his posture intimidated you, the air in the room becoming thick with tension. You can actually feel the anger coming from Dark as if it were your own. This intrigued and scared the crap out of you at the same time.
You look over to Mark as you realize he's talking.
"I think that's very unlikely." Mark retorted, also tense, his face flushed with anger. He stood up, continuing in an angrier tone. "You kidnapped her, remember?! And not only that, whatever you've done to her...It's messed up alright?"
"What?!" Dark looked up indignantly at Mark, turning to face him. "You don't know what you're talking about."
"Y/n passed out soon after you left...She was out for a while and then she started acting...I don't even know how to explain it. It was scary. She only started to act herself again when you and Wilford came over."
"..." Dark looked away for a moment, deep in thought before sighing. "I'm sorry Mark. I didn't mean to do this...It's just I knew she wouldn't want to be with me...Especially when people like you are around. So I might have...I might have bound our souls together."
"Bound your souls? What does that mean?!...And what does this mean for her?" Mark's voice wavered a little, his concern for you evident on his face.
"Well...It means...Me and you...And even Wilford are all connected now. And um...Well..."
You'd never seen Dark stumble over his words so much. It was actually kind of scary. What could scare Dark this much?
"Dark..." Mark prompted impatiently.
Dark pulled at his dark hair for a moment, before answering slowly. "It means that if we're not near each other, she'll start to fade away and her dark side will show itself...Oh and er if anything happens to us, it happens to her too."
"What?!" Mark gasps with outrage whilst all you can do is stare. Surely that couldn't be true...Souls? Your dark side? None of this made sense...Well, might as well speak up now. "This situation gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "I'll die without you", huh?" You suddenly found yourself say and both Dark and Mark yelped.
"Y/n!" Mark gasps whilst Dark stares at you in horror.
"You....Heard all of that?..." Dark whispers.
You nod shyly, walking out.
-"W-Well...I heard you two shouting..." Oh god this was a mistake.
"Nice one Dark." Mark sighs whilst Dark snaps back. "It's your fault!"
"Oh really? It's MY fault?! This whole mess is YOUR fault, Dark. SO FUCKING FIX IT!"
"STOP SHOUTING AT ME!" Dark screeched, slamming his fist into the nearest wall, leaving a perfect indent of his fist. You shrink away from him and Mark wraps an arm around your shoulders comfortingly. It wasn't Dark's fault. He just needed to calm down a little.
"Dark." Mark growled warningly but Dark didn't listen, throwing the nearest object and sending it hurtling toward Mark's face. He ducked, the glass smashing against the wall.
"You're always acting like you know best! Just back the fuck off Mark! Go on! Get away from me!"
Mark was about to reply when you move out of his arms and walk over to Dark, placing a gentle hand on his pale grey arm.
"Dark." You say softly, feeling his muscles relax slightly at your voice. "It's okay. We'll figure this out...You just need to calm down. Can you do that for me?"
He ground his teeth together for a moment before sighing and giving in. "Fine. Fine...I'm fine." He kissed your hand, his lips lingering at your knuckles for a moment before drawing back. You blush, thankful it was relatively dark in the room. Dark looks down at you for a moment and then turns away sharply.
"I'm going out. I'll be back tomorrow...You two should get some sleep." He grabbed a black leather jacket before walking out the door and disappearing into the night. You look over to Mark who looked up at you with a nervous chuckle.
"So what now?"
