In which we all play hide and seek

Dear Diary,

Today, Geeta and I had a good playtime. But my little friend seemed little downcast. I saw her misty eyed as she looked at her playmates ambling by and she told me so:

"I want to run and play but there is no sway

I want to dance and wear all those pretty dresses

I want to do jazz, hop on the zumba and rock and roll.

But the only things that I roll are the wheels of my chair.

Other kids do not come near me as if I am an oddity ,an alien.

No I scream,I am like YOU,one of YOU,

I like ice cream and maggi

And barbies and beautiful dresses and fairy tales.

And I hate exams and copy my homework.

I watch all the Shinchan, Doraemon and Pokemon episodes.

I want to be friends but they run away from me.

They make fun of me and laugh at me.

But I smile back at them and forgive them

And wait for the day they shall hold my hand and be my friend."

Then I wipe the tears off her cheeks.

"Wait here!I'll be right back!" I say.

I go out towards the playground and fetch all the children. I tell them about Geeta and we devise a plan to make her smile.

A little boy called Shyam with pink cheeks who has ADHD and autism and who I think secretly admires Geeta volunteers to wheel her around during hide and seek. I rush into the classroom and wheel her out. Shyam shyly approaches Geeta and asks her whether he can be her chaperone for the game. Geeta blushes and nods. I adore puppy love! I become the seeker and the contigent of twenty kids have a gala time.

Until next time,
