It was NYE and I was all alone except for my grandma and my dog. My mom and dad probably had plans but they didn't ask me to join them. I was actually just sitting in my room talking to my friend Ruben when all of a sudden he asked me, "Will you be mine?" Starting to cry, I responded, "Definitely. But, why did you pick me?" After a while I decided he had gone to bed and I did the same. His picture was my only glimpse of himself thinking about me. When I first met him we were just barely talking, and now it seems like we've gotten more attached. We both stayed up until the clock hit 12:00 kissing each other and he made me smile. That was our first kiss.
The beginning of school had gone like the first day, back to normal. Homework is an issue for me because I don't really focus that well and if I talk to Ruben I feel like I'm just wasting his time with all my dumb words. None of them seemed right when I said them so I tried my very best to stay strong in situations that weren't the best. All of my friends were still the same, all of my teachers were the same, but my heart wasn't. My heart only belonged to him and no one else. It was kinda hard for me to not look at other boys but it was also hard to keep my trust within him. First time we met: Me: "Hey." Him: "Hey? I'm in the middle of class, sorry XD I'll text you when I get the chance, us that ok?" And yes, his keyboard messes up sometimes but he is so cute. Whenever we talked, I kinda escaped from the world. It was like the world never existed. My life had gotten better with him around, everything was better. It actually felt like we were together and we were the only two people in the world. But he was slowly moving away, I could tell. He always said I love you though as it was just a simple phrase. The words that came out of his mouth made me smile like no other. But then some things happened and everything changed soon after.
"Jess? U there?" A message from him came up on my phone and woke me up. I lazily grabbed my phone and checked it, then put it back down and fell asleep. Messages from him kept coming and they were so sweet. One message said, "Good morning to the Most beautiful and gorgeous girl in the world. I hope that you had a good sleep. I hope that you have a good day, wherever your adventures may take you. I hope to talk to you soon. You deserve the world, but since I cannot give you that. I will give you the next best thing, which is my world. Last night I sent an angel to watch over you. Within minutes of my request, the angel reappeared. I asked it why? The angel simply said, "Angels don't watch over other angels". I missed talking to you. Life without you is like a broken pencil... Pointless." It was really sweet so I responded with, "Baby, I need some sleep *sends 5 heart emoji's* You need sleep too. Goodnight." Soon after, I fell asleep and dropped my phone on the floor.
