Edward’s P.O.V

I watched as the wolf fell to the ground showing submission. ‘Kill him! No I can’t’ . My eyes widened as his thoughts disappeared and I no longer could read them. What’s going on? Why isn’t he attacking? The wolf whimpered again and stood up on wobbly legs. He walked towards me, slowly and I flinched back instinctively. I looked at him with suspicious eyes, before I noticed he was just as scared and confused as me. I didn’t know what exactly was going on but somehow in the back of my mind I trusted this wolf, my enemy since a hundred years back.

He walked closer, and I stayed in the same spot. He stopped, a few feet away. If I took one step forward, I would be able to touch him. He looked at me, almost longingly, and I couldn’t help but get lost in his eyes. I don’t know what’s happening, but it was like time froze.

That was until we heard rattling in the bushes a 100 feet away. The wolf’s head snapped in that direction then back to me. He looked at me and took a step forward, almost as if he wanted to stay, a while longer. Then he bolted away in the opposite direction of the sound.

I looked after him, still in a daze when Alice came through the tree’s looking at me worriedly.

When she saw I was fine she frowned, and asked me with a confused voice:

“Edward are you alright? I had a vision of you being cornered by the wolf and then you disappered. I was worried something happened.”

I looked at her and gave her weak smile. “I’m fine” I answered. She nodded still frowning and together we went back to our house.
