Chapter One:

Lisa

I woke this morning, with trails of perspiration along my brows, again just coming out of the repeated dream I experience when I'm in slumber. The unidentifiable stranger that haunts my dreams regularly; his presence both intimidating and comfortable.

Shoving away all those thoughts, I got out of bed and immediately made my way to have a shower- these acts almost becoming my early morning tradition- distractedly; I washed myself in haste and was out of the shower only a few minutes after. I quickly got dressed and then made my way downstairs into the dining area where my parents were...

With a quick hello, and a kiss on the cheek I was out the house; eager to get on the paper round that was my job. I actually loved the thrill of riding on my bike, feeling on top the world being the only awake being outside...

The exhilaration of throwing the papers unto the thresholds of humble abodes.

On the last few stops of my paper round, I threw the paper, as usual, in to the entrance of the house and heard the sound of someone getting bashed. Oh damn, I've hit someone, I got out of my bike quickly and made my way to where the sound came from. Struggling to get up was a tall, handsome being,I ran across to help him up

“oh my Lord, I’m so sorry about that, I wasn’t looking at where I was throwing that and.. and, I’m really am sorry” I apologized in a breath only to be cut off by the beauty standing in front of me

“It’s quite alright missus, no harm done” he insists in a very deep accent.

As if caught in time, I stilled feeling the deep shivers down my spine. It seems that I was there for a length of time as I replay his words in my head.

"Well I'm Jake by the way..." He muttered, bringing his hands out in gesture

"Lisa" I replied shyly, while shaking his hands

The contact of skin on skin sends a spark igniting through our hand- ignoring that I continue…

“I live round here, well welcome to the neighbourhood?” I asked him, it is quite awkward seeing as his welcome present was a throw to the ground

“Thank you and for the… unique welcome parade” he chuckled at his joke.

I blushed at his remark, flinching the meaning of his words, I took out my mobile to check the time, it was far spent and I was reluctant to have to move away from him

“Well I better be going then, sorry again for my clumsiness”I collected myself, slyly looking at my surroundings also.

“Yeah, nice meeting you Lisa- hope we meet again” he replied and makes his way into his home

As I made my way back to where I had dropped my bike in haste, I pondered the likely chance of me actually bumping into him again. Well I could always throw newspapers at him every morning. Wow- he would think I was a right numpty then.

Jake.

Nice Name.
