*5 days later*
I'm still very confused about my mom asking me if I missed my childhood. And the fact that we're getting new neighbors made me feel uncomfortable but still very curious about the whole thing.
Who could it be? I questioned myself.
I stopped thinking and went to bed.

I woke up around 10am when in all of a sudden I hear a big crash. I rub my sleepy eyes, look out my window and see this huge truck and a lot of people around it. People were carrying huge boxes and different kinds of furniture.
Oh, I thought. So the new neighbors are moving in already.
I walked down the stairs only to make my lovely morning tea. Then I threw on some slippers and walked out the door to get the mail and some fresh air.
Although it was August and some mornings were starting to get a bit chilly I still felt the sun burning on my exposed shoulders. "A nice bikini day" I thought to myself.
When I was about to turn around I caught eye contact with this tall ass guy a few feet away. He looked so familiar at once but I couldn't place him anywhere. Even though he kept looking at me I turned around and went back in with the mail.
Ugh, I could already hear my moms voice in my head saying "How about you go with these cookies to our new neighbors, dear" And god, I couldn't be more right.
I nervously rang the doorbell and stepped a bit back. A few moments later the guy from earlier showed up in the door frame.
- Hey, what can I do for you? He simply asked.
- Um hi, I live next door and my mom wanted me to give you and your family these cookies since we're neighbors now. I mumbled. I was so afraid of talking to new people.
- Oh thanks. I'm Cody by the way, Cody Herbinko. He said and reached out his hand, obviously wanting me to shake it.
My eyes widened, I realized it all. He's back. Cody's back. My best friend who moved out 10 years ago, who I shared everything with, was back.
- Abigail Scott. I said and shook his hand.
