"I think I'm in love with you, and I'm terrified."

*Your POV*

I had been in Alexandria for about two weeks now. I really enjoyed it here. There were four or five other kids my age that I liked to hang out with. Enid was the most relatable. I hung out with her a lot.

Ron and Carl were also there. I didn't hang out with them as much, but not by choice. Carl was the most attractive person I had ever seen, without a doubt. He probably didn't feel the same about me, since I was extremely uninteresting. Very plain overall.

"Y/N. Are you okay?" Enid asked in a concerned voice.

"Yeah," I sighed, even though I wasn't.

"Okay. You seemed like you were sad."

"No. Just thinking."

"Okay."

They went back to their conversation. I kept sneaking glances at Carl. I noticed him glancing at me occasionally also, but I didn't say anything.

"Hey Ron? What do you have to eat?"

"Umm, I don't know. Come downstairs with me and look."

"Thanks. Do you guys want anything?"

"No thanks," I said.

"I'm good. Thanks anyways," Carl muttered.

"Okay," Ron said as he shut the door.

We sat in silence for about a minute.

"How're you?" I asked to make conversation.

"Fine," he stated simply.

"That's good."

He didn't say anything. Ugh, this boy has no social skills.

We sat in silence for another minute before he huffed and got up from the bed.

"I'm gonna go see what is taking them so long."

That set me off. I had been here longer than he had and he was acting like I didn't even matter. And it pissed me off.

I jumped off the bed and slammed the door shut.

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," he stated simply.

"Bullshit," I hissed. "You have been treating me like shit and I want to know why."

He looked down at his shoes, suddenly embarrassed.

"Well?" I asked impatiently.

He muttered something that I couldn't understand. All I caught was "terrified."

"What?" I asked quietly.

He glanced up and spoke a little louder.

"I think I'm in love with you, and I'm terrified. I'm terrified I'm going to loose you, Y/N. And I don't want that to happen. Ever."

I was in awe. I had thought he hated me. And he loved me. He loved my plainness, and my boringness. My complete normalness.

"But I guess you don't feel the same," he said with a downcast look on his face.

I ran over and wrapped my arms around his neck, my lips pressed against his fervently. He smiled into the kiss and pulled me closer.

We heard the door swing open and saw Enid and Ron out of the corner of our eyes. Enid had a half eaten apple and Ron had a small bag of chips. Both of their jaws dropped and they dropped the food on the floor.

"Well this is awkward," I said as I disentangled myself from Carl's arms.

"I told you!" Enid exclaimed to Ron after she recovered from the initial shock of walking in on our make-out session.

"Yeah, you did," Ron admitted as he grabbed a pack of gum from his drawer and tossed it to Enid.

"You guys are so immature," I laughed.

"We know," they voiced in unison. I laughed again as Carl pulled me in for another kiss.
