Falling from Heaven was always a head rush, but when someone drops you when you haven't properly preparing yourself, well, it's a lot more intense. What's more, the Soul's aiming was off, she was supposed to arrive at the Capital City, but instead when she looked around all she could see was farmland. There wasn't even anyone around she could see, just crops everywhere as far as she could see. There was going to be a serious conversation with the Soul up there when she got back.
Dusting herself off, she got up and started walking to a road nearby. Wondering when she would arrive to a village, she began to walk. Along the way she passed several people who paid her no mind, making her thankful that she had changed into what humans call normal clothing. If she was still in Heaven, she would die of embarrassment if anyone saw her. Then she began wondering if anyone was looking down at her right now, the thought causing her face to redden. She looked up to see if she could actually see any glimpse of Heaven, but all she could see was the clouded sky. It looked like it was going to rain soon, so she hurried her pace.
In half a day she finally reached a small village, her feet killing her and the first drops of rain coming down. Everyone was in a hurry to finish their business before the rain began, so Naia walked through the village unnoticed. She found what she could only assume was an Inn. She sat down at a table taking off her cloak, hanging it to dry on the chair, a few of the patrons looked at her but soon went back to their own business. "Excuse me ma'am, would you like anything to eat? Are you staying the night?" A waitress had walked up behind her, smiling brightly.
"No on the food, and as for spending the night I believe that I will be unless this rain passes, so I shall answer you later for that." Naia said, slowly stretching out her arms. The walk her was so exhausting, she never had to walk so much in almost her entire life, she could almost feel the blisters forming.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but it's policy. You either need to buy something, a drink, food or a room or you have to leave." The girls smile didn't waver as she spoke, making Naia think that she gave that line quite a lot.
Naia sighed, rubbing her neck. She dug into a pouch she had brought with her and pulled out a gold coin. "Here, just get me something warm to drink."
The waitresses eyes went wide as she stared at the coin. "Ma'am, i'm sorry but I don't think we have enough coin to give you change for that."
"It's fine. Keep whatever change there is, I brought plenty more." The girl grabbed the coin, walking over to a man behind a bar. She spoke quietly, and they both looked over at her. Naia smiled lightly, giving them a small wave. The waitress came back with a cup and put it down on the table, saying that it was the best tea they had. Naia took a sip and smiled at the girl, giving her her thanks. It tasted like grass, but she was so tired she didn't care, nor did she notice several men looking at her.
Several minutes later, one of the men walked over to her. "Excuse me, miss? Me and my boys over there would like to ask you a question." He smiled down at her.
Naia looked up at the man, not saying anything. "Well? What is the question?" She asked finally after waiting for the man to continue talking. The man looked rough at best, several scars over his arms, his body well muscled, he must have been a farmer.
"Well, we are with the Rebellion ma'am. We were given orders to find someone fitting your description, and bring you to him. Would you please come with us so we can get you properly situated?"
Naia smiled. She thought that some people might recognize the Goddess their country was raised to worship, but she didn't think it would be this soon, especially out here in the country. But this was news to her, a rebellion? Last she heard the country was in a time of peace, not at war with anyone. Also, why would there be cause to rebel? When she had left she had given the King strict instructions on how to maintain the kingdom, and he should have passed that down upon his children. She stood up, grabbing her cloak. "Very well, take me to him then."
