Narrator's POV
A figure moved about the night. He was as quiet as the wings of a butterfly, and quick as a fox....
Who was being chased by dogs, or rather men. They threw rocks and arrows at him. He had crossed over to enemy territory and was stuck in there. He couldn't hide. He was cornered in a castle's high walls. The men moved closer and closer. He took two arrows and climbed up the wall and into an opened window, well more like fell in.
Silver's POV
I awoke as a heard a loud thump. I reached for my candle, but stopped once I heard it again. My window was opened, I was going to moved my sheets, when a figure rose from the ground. I stayed still.
He looked through the opened window as if trying to peek, a hood covered his face. Soon three arrows came flying in. He hid against the wall. I heard some ruffling, then saw it draw an arrow, the release it. He hid against the wall again, the tumbling noise was made again. Three more arrows came in.
It let go of a breath and released another arrow. A loud yelp was heard from outside. He hid against the wall, probably drawing another arrow. It took another breath and stood in front of the window to release another arrow. It put its bow down, as if searching so something. Then suddenly...
It crashed against the floor. I heard it groan. I was gonna go over to the figure, but I heard footsteps heading to me. I heard the figure gasp. It got up and jumped out of the window. I heard something snap.
Soon the door bursted open and the whole room was lit.
"Son, are you alright?" Asked my dad with two knights by his sides.
"Yes, yes...just fine." I said.
"I swear I heard something-"
"My Lord." The Knights went over to the wall where several marks were made, a stack of arrows laid on the floor.
"Hm..." He picked up and arrow. "I recognize these arrows." He said. I got up and went over to the window.
I looked down from the windowsill. There's no way someone survived that fall. I walked back few steps, but stepped on something. I picked it up. It was a snapped arrow, the tip wasn't there. It was just half of the arrow, the end with the fletchings.
??????'s POV
"Hey, calm down. It's just a scratch..."
"I just don't under stand how it happened." I pulled the arrow out of my shoulder.
"Argh... Um, I tried target practice with my eyes closed." I received a smack in the head.
"Liar! I know you can shoot a bull's eye with your eyes closed."
"I just got struck with an arrow in the shoulder, and you still hit me?" I asked, weakly smiling. A felt a warm forehead hit my back.
"Oh, Shadow..." My smile faded. "You take too many risks." I felt hot liquid run down my back.
"Amy? Are you...crying?" I asked. She sniffled. I turned back to her.
"I don't know what I'd do without you Shadow." She sniffled.
"Hey, look at the bright side." I lifted her chin. Her teary emerald eyes looked into mine. "At least I'm still here and not dead."
"This is the second time you've gotten hurt this week." She whispered. "What if tomorrow you don't come back? What if you're gone? What if you never come back? What if I end up all alone?" She said, crying. I took her by the shoulders.
