Another boring night in Little City. Another traffic jam. And another boring life for Eko - a new worker at X company.
Eko yawned as his eyes looked at another car in front of him that still hasn't moved since thirty minutes ago. He felt so tired and sleepy after working non stop in one week and what made it worse was his seniors didn't treat him well at work. They liked to play around with him. Treating him as their personal slave and made him do their works. Oh, it needed so much patient to face this people.
Eventhough he wasn't treated well, Eko didn't have so much courage to make them leave him alone. Because there were reasons not to fight them back:
1. They are his seniors.
2. Seniors means not only one.
3. One of them has a good position in company that can kick him out anytime he likes.Actually he will be really happy, if the third reason happens, but... looking a job in Little City is so hard. Three months ago before he got hired at X company, many companies rejected him. When he got the job, he knew it was a miracle. Of course he couldn't throw it right away.
Remembering all of that made him pissed of a bit. He closed his eyes and took a long deep breath.
"Hhh... So tired..." He opened his eyes again and looked at the watch. It was half past ten.
Hmm... a bourbon will be so nice at time like this. Tom must be happy to see me again.
Tom was Eko's best friend since high school and now run a bar near Big City. Eko often visits him just to drink and talk about anything. It's not taking a long time to get there since he knew many of paths that he could take to get out from traffic.
Eko parked his car in front a modern bar. There were a lot of cars and people. Looks like someone held a drink party tonight.
He came into the bar. Tom saw him and waved his hand.
"Eko! Come here!" He smiled.
Eko approached the bartender's table and sat down.
"The usual?" asked Tom as he showed a bourbon to him.
Eko smiled. "Yes, please."
"So how's your work?" Tom spook a bit louder because the bar were so noisy.
"Not really well..."
Tom chuckled and gave him a glass of bourbon. Eko grabbed the glass and sipped it.
"Why don't you stop and work here for me?" joked Tom.
"No... I can't." Eko took another sip. "Actually I do it well. Just some problems with my seniors."
"Heeh... Junior's problem."
"Yeah... Anyway I can't beat them down just like in high school. There will be more trouble for me."
Tom laughed. He remembered how Eko beated another older students when they played with him. The result was both of them never see the bullies again since that day.
"It will be awesome if you dare to do that."
"Come on, man. We are grown ups, not kids anymore." Eko smiled.
"Look who's talking now? A Mature Eko?"
The two friends laughed hard. Then a deep calm voice interrupted them.
"You seems have a good relationship."
A man, who looked like in his fourties, joined them in conversation. Eko and Tom looked at each other in confusion. They didn't notice this man was with them in the beginning.
