The time was 6pm. Esther, Avi and I were all watching TV. We heard the door open. Two people came in. A woman with long blonde hair, put into a braid and a man with brown hair. Avi's Parents. Avi's mother began to walk in the room "¿Esther, quien está contigo?" She asked as she walked around the couch.
Once she caught a glimpse of Avi's face "Hola, mama" A huge smile came upon her face accompanied by tears. Avi stood up and gave her a huge hug.
"Michael, Michael ven aca. Michael, es Avi" She shouted. Her husband entered the room and saw Avi "Está de vuelta, te dije que volvería" She shouted happily. Her husband then hugged Avi very intensely.
"Te extrañamos mucho" His father said with complete joy. It was such a beautiful reunion.
Them all eyes were on me. "¿Y quien esta?" Avi's mom asked him.
"Esto es Mitch, el no habla español" Avi informed her.
"Hello Mitch, welcome to our home" She came up and hugged me. She projected such a motherly and positive vibe. Avi's dad came and shook my hand.
"Avi where have you been all these years?" She asked desperate for answers.
"LA" He said trying to hide his answer.
"Well I'm glad you're back" She hugged him again.
"I'm...I mean we're only here for 2 weeks" Avi informed her.
"Oh" Her smile faded a little. "Well its always great to see you" Her smile grew slightly.
"Mom. Dad. Esther, theres something I have to tell you...but I'll tell you all later" He informed them. They all nodded in unison. I didn't know what he was going to tell them but it was probably a personal thing.
For the remainder of the night we ate and we had great conversation. He came from such a great family and the qualities his family had clearly rubbed off on him.
