The Story of How Mrs Weiner Changed Our Lives
A collection of memoirs
Prologue
By Cassidy Wentworth
"Extreme close up," Mrs Weiner exclaimed as she scrambled to snatch her video camera from Bradley. This was not the first time Mrs Weiner, a disgrace to the human race, had caused her students trouble. Mrs Weiner, or Heather as her rich husband calls her, is a librarian at Timberlane Regional Middle School; but not for long. Before I continue on why Mrs Weiner is a disappointment to life, I will give you some basic information about Heather.
Chapter One: Mrs Chang's Beginning
An Introduction
By Cassidy Wentworth
I have always had a simple philosophy; if you are nice to me, I will be nice to you. Go ahead- ask yourself, "What does this have to do with Weiner?" This, my readers, is how our relationship started out.
2013, Move-Up Day I briefly recall my fifth grade experiences. It's all a blur: fractions, science museum field trips, a boyfriend or two, and oh yeah- Mrs Weiner before I even went to a school which she worked at.
My homeroom and I walked step-by-step through the library doors. "Oh! The books!," went through my head as I admired the bookshelves after bookshelves. There would be nothing to keep me from reading every single one of these books through my middle school years- except her- Mrs Weiner, or as I call her; Mrs Weener.
2016, The Present After meeting Mrs Weiner for the first time, my life was never the same. Mrs Weiner had brought joy, and sorrow into my life.
Chapter Two: Costume Contest Fiasco
By Cassidy Wentworth
2013, Autumn There were plenty of activities to keep me occupied, in the library, during my sixth grade year. One of these activities included the costume contest. I had had the most spectacular Halloween costume this year- Dorothy, as featured in The Wizard of Oz. My mom had made the costume, using her high speed sewing machine; which is completely irrelevant to the story.
I strutted into the library, with the mindset that I was checking out a new book to read. I picked out Matched, as I remembered. As I dropped my book on the counter, and spoke my name to Mrs Laplante as I had many times before. I heard the voice that I dreaded ever so much. Heather began to talk to me about the costume contest coming up, which was being filmed by video advisory. The costume contest was where you dressed up as a character from a book, and got recorded giving a brief summary of the book, and why you chose it. Also, if you won, you received a twenty five dollar Barnes and Noble gift card, which was useless to me at the time with such a book filled library. After a short conversation, my name was written on the clipboard titled, "Costume Contest Sign-Ups!"
About a week later, I had arrived to school with a costume in my hands. At lunch, I was to walk to the library, and be recorded in the video lab. Instead, at lunchtime, I struggled in the bathroom to slip into my dorothy outfit. I made my way to the library, and to my surprise, Heather was there! There was also Dano's pizza there, but that is completely irrelevant. A few of my dear friends were dressed up, too! These friends included Kira, dressed up as the Mona Lisa, Gianna, dressed as Nicki from the Dork Diaries, Melissa, dressed as a cowgirl, and some other kid dressed like a psychopath. Oh, I don't think that child had a costume on.
