Dear Rose

You're so beautiful yet so painful

Your lustful red petals

Attract my attention

But your deadly thorns

Interrupts my admiration

You're just like life

I can admire it

But I prick my fingers when I get too close

How can something so beautiful

Cause so much pain

The blood that flows

Matches your skin

Just like the tears that fall

Matches the ocean

When you wither and fall

Life crumbles and destroys

You're skin is dry and old

Just like my dying soul

You're no longer beautiful

With your crimpled paper

And fragile needles

What was once so beautiful

Is now wrinkled and old

Just like how life is no longer admirable

But unloved and destroyed

Dear rose

How can something so beautiful

Cause so much pain
