You walked cautiously in the dimly lit hallway with a growing pit of anxiousness deep within your stomach, you felt your stomach lurch as bile threaten to surface. As you reached your destination you stopped and knocked on the bronze door.
The faint sound of heavy footsteps wandered around the room beyond.
"Who is it?"
You gulped trying to ease your anxiousness before replaying. "It's just me, Sir. A-Aurroa."
You heard the multiple clicks of the locks before the door opened before you.
"Come on in my apprentice." He made a motion towards you before returning to his table cluttered with scrolls and books.
You closed the door carefully before taking uneasy steps towards him. "You wanted to ask of me something mentor?"
He looked up momentarily before sighing. "My child it seems though I must ask something gravely of you." He didn't bother making eye contact with you instead he just continued rummaging through the clutter. "Though there is no backing out of it.."
You frowned and bit the walls of your cheeks. "May I at least know what It is Sir?"
"We need you to continue on living inorder to keep the barrier in check." He moves away to the shelves.
"Sir, why me? Couldn't Khole do it instead?" You pleaded unwilling to carry such a heavy task.
"Oh, didn't you hear? Khole the Corrupted was vanquished in the hands of that acursed fire elemental." Your mentor bitterly remenises. "And alas it now up to you to keep humanity away from those foul beasts of hell."
You personally didn't consider those beasts of hell bad, in fact you even interacted with one way back then. "Couldn't you do it?"
"I'm afraid not my child; for you see I am old and furthuring my life into immortality wouldn't keep it in check." He grabs a book from the highest shelf.
"How about the other sorcerrers?" You asked deserately.
Your mentor gives you a sad look before as he walks over to you. "I know this is such a burden to be placed on such a vulnerable youth, but you have to understand ____. You're our only hope afterall onebody else is willing enough."
Tears freely spilled from your eyes as you hiccuped. You felt the arms of your mentor wrap around you in a loving embrace.
"There there my child." He gently rubs your back soothing you. "I'm so sorry."

You woke up earlier than you expected after a allnighter on tumblr, glancing over to the clock on your nightstand you realized that it was 5:00 in the morning; you groaned loudly before standing up to prepare some coffee for yourself.
On the way to the kitchen you also turned on the television for some background noise.
'Good morning! This is Cole Chumingo with breaking news! A bunch of monsters finally reemerged from the depths of the underground for at least a hundred years! I'm talking to local skeleton monster Mr. Sans! Mr. Sans how do you feel about-'
You quickly turned off the T.V and muttered fuck under your breath.
