~short chapter~

A few weeks went by just like that. Awkward, but warm. I was so happy eating her bad cooking and going on shopping trips into town with her. It was nice.

When me and the loud mare got home I asked her "miss Photo Finish, it's been great living with you-" I got interrupted by her "no problem darling that's what I'm here for" I chuckled slightly and continued my original thought "but why did you adopt me in the first place?" I could feel the atmosphere change and become thinker. There was nothing but silence for a while before I could hear the mare deeply inhale "Vwell to be honest darling I've never wanted a foal, though they'd get in the vay of my career." I slowly move my head to look at the ground. "Vut that day in your orphanage when I was taking pictures of all you little ponies. I saw something I had never seen before in my life." I face her voice again in a saddened confused manner. "I saw the life of a young filly. In one frame. One unexpected picture I saw all the sadness and lost hope through two light blue blind eyes." There was a longer pause after she finished her statement.

A long while passed both of us silent not moving. "Miss photo finish..?" I sheepishly interrupted the quiet. "Darling, what I'm trying to say is.." the bold mare started "I never wanted a foal until I saw your eyes in that picture and the raw talent of your ability to speak through those pale eyes of yours." I am caught in a state of confusion and happiness. "But-" she continued "I never want to see those things in your eyes ever again. That's why I adopted you darling."

That night as I laid in bed still playing the words over in my head "I never want those things in your eyes ever again-" I couldn't believe it. All out of one picture. The bed felt so warm I could barely stand it, it brought me almost to a sweat. Obviously I wasn't used to the feelings and the sounds yet but I was getting there.
