It was a typical case in the town of Innkham, some poor little thing kidnapped, except this time was a little different, we had actually found where the culprits were keeping this girl, a huge success in the books. We approached the door to the house where the girl was being kept, the house wasn't much to look at really, just an averagely sized farm house, as we continued our way to the door, that's when the first shot was fired, a shot gun blast straight through the door coming from the residents. One of us got hit, a poor rookie whom we had decided to bring as his first mission, the kid's probably gonna die. My partner Swanson drug the kid out of the way as the rest of us tried to find cover, I laughed at the Captain's orders to bring the tommy guns, guess he was right, we needed the extra firepower, as they seemed to be expecting us. We had only six officers who could actually attack these guys, me and Swanson right up on the door, and the four at the two squad doors who were armed with the tommy guns, me and Swanson only had the standard police revolver with us. I nodded to Swanson, who returned the gesture, as we both shot one bullet each into the door, the gunshots were followed by a satisfying thud, we then proceeded to kick in the door and quickly assess the room we had just entered. It was empty, we assumed there were more people in the bottom floor, and that's when we heard all the gunshots from the floor above us. That's when our boys outside let them have it, as they unleashed a hail storm of bullets upon the miscreants, as the bullets were flying, we could hear faint screaming coming from what seemed to be a bedroom. "We've gotta go check that out White, the boys can handle the guys upstairs!" We quickly rushed over to the door as fast as we could, only to find that the screaming had stopped when we finally reached the door. We proceeded to kick the door open, only to find the room was filled with the lifeless, decaying bodies of the girls who had recently gone missing, upon further inspection, a note was laying neatly on the bed, in front of the open window... I applaud your teams work Mr. White, but I advise you leave this case to me, this is only one little piece of the puzzle that is hidden behind the nice, calm town that is Innkham, if you continue, you'll be putting yourself into a place where you will be left disoriented, confused, and eventually, dead. -The Bird . And this is the moment, that Detective White was condemned to die.
