My Brother's Best Friend.

I was lying on the couch when I heard a knock on the door. I crept to peek out the window when I saw my older brother Josh standing impatiently with a guy holding a Jack in the box bag. I opened the door.
"Hey!" Josh says.
"Hey."
"Where's mom?" He asks, searching around the room carelessly.
"She went to the store." I mumble, jogging back to the couch.
"This your sister?" I heard an unfamiliar voice.
I look. Josh sighs, "yeah that's my dumb little sis."
"Hey! Your dumb. What's even up with you? You got a stick up your ass or something? You had an horrible day?? What?" I stammer back, I felt my cheeks heat up. I hope I wasn't blushing.

"Yeah your the dumb one. Since you're the littlest." Josh laughs.
"You really shouldn't be talking about your sis like that Josh. I mean she's family. You can't be treating family like that." Josh's friend tells him.

Josh scoffs and goes onto checking his hamburger.
I walk over to the kitchen island where they are at.
"Get me anything?" My mouth is watering like crazy from smelling the hot fries and cheeseburgers.

"Nope."
I sigh. "Well, I'm hungry."

"Make yourself a bowl of cereal." My brother adds.

"No." I shake my head. " I want real food."

Josh's friend splits his burger in half and hands it to me.

"No, seriously it's your food. It's okay you really don't have to give it to me." I say pushing back his offer. I felt bad.

He grabs my hand and sets it on my palm. "Take it."

I nod. "Thank you." And take a bite.

"What's your name btw?" The nameless boy asks.

"Alexia." I answer.

"I'm Cameron." He smiles a warm smile that makes me feel special.

"Nice to meet y-." I am cut off by my insanely rude snobby brother.
"Are we going to play games? Of flirt with my sister all day cam???" Josh questions, I can tell he was getting upset that Cameron was paying more attention to me than he was to him.

"Sorry." Cam murmurs.

Was Cameron really flirting with me ? No. He can't like me. We just barely met. This can't be "Love at First sight."

I shrug and head upstairs to binge on netflix.

"DINNERS REAdy!!" I heard my mom yell from the kitchen.
I had just woken up from an 3-hour nap. I rubbed my eyes, pulled the covers off and hopped off, rushing downstairs.
Everyone was sitting prepared at the dinner table, including Cameron.
Meanwhile, I walked downstairs wearing my frozen onesie. Childish I know, but honestly it was a gift from my nana.

I took a seat next to my mom.
"Gee, hahaha. Nice pajamas." Cameron smirks checking it out.

"Thanks?" I wasn't sure how to answer that.

After that, my mom grabbed my hand and everyone else did also. "Thank you god for this food." I began.
My mother speaks, than my father did, Josh and lastly Cameron.
"I want to thank the Mendes's for having me here tonight eating this delicious meal..." Cameron spoke.
....."Amen"

I did the sign of the cross and began eating. Mmm, your chicken enchiladas are bomb ma." I comment. "As always!"

"Thank you mrs. Mendes,chicken enchiladas are my favorite." Cameron laughs, already on his third one.

My mother wipes her mouth, "I'm glad."
