"If you just opened your eyes for one second,
You could see all of the things you've done to me!"He stood in the rain, his clothes and hair drenched, stormy grey eyes glued to the ground as he spoke.
She stood across from him, looking from him to the other, trying to understand what had happened. She had only shown up moments ago, hearing the shouts of her brother and his best friend a few blocks away.
He kept his chocolate brown eyes on him at all times, not wanting to miss a word that was being said. He knew what he had done to his best friend, the one person's life he valued most, he just didn't want to believe he did it.
"No matter how hard I tried, you never listened to me!
It was always the fact that you never even though of how I felt that hurt the most!"She looked at her brother, her pale green eyes starting to fill with tears as she saw his pained expression. Nothing she could say or do would keep him from feeling this way, so she tried not to say anything.
He looked at his sister who was three years younger then him, and tried not to cry in front of her. He held back the tears that were forming in his eyes as he tried to finish what he was saying.
"It was never about me, was it?
It was always about her! About how we needed to everything that was best for her!
How I went along with it, how I was always the one who was there for you!
What did she do? She tricked you! She played you into thinking she was helping us!
And what do you do? You throw me to the side, even though you said you wee doing what was best for us and for our friendship! Does it mean nothing to you?"He was about to reply when the sirens started wailing. A bomb had gone off in the distance, the blast far enough to where it didn't reach the three, but close enough to knock down the wall they were standing near. The sirens became louder as they started running. Nothing else was running through their minds but to get out of the area, and fast.
No one knew what had happened that day, only that the one bomb that had gone off was the start of the war that would change their whole world in an instant. The two siblings made it out together, while his best friend was captured and taken away by three large figures wearing plain white masks and all grey clothing. He had been gone ever since.
This all occurred four years ago, in the town of Mellia.
