Villains slwoly but effectively drove the rest of the heroes into hiding and death.
The era called "Catastrophe", was quickly set in motion.
The world was in total chaos with the line between good and evil smeared.
Families turned on each other, Villains turned on each other. Every man was for himself.
As a result the black market of drugs and cartel were quite visible in this destroyed society.
The original members of the Justice league hasn't began to do anything about it because they're preocuppied in their own little fights.
Superman has found a way to resurrect Krypton to its former glory and has left to get it started.
He hasn't been back for almost 20yrs.
Wonder woman died protecting the one true man she loved without hesitation.
Batman, feeling responsible for her death, hung up the cape and coul for good and disappeared without a trace.
Some believe he left to find himself, others believe he was a coward.
Very few know where he is, one of them being his adopted son Richard "Dick" Grayson aka Nightwing.

SOAHC didn't waste anytime, as soon as Gary, Arthur and Alycia's son, was born May 25th they faked his death by injecting him with a chemical that slows down the heart rate to one beat every two minutes.
After their sons funeral SOACH began their experiments in the boy but nothing worked as he was a baby he couldn't take the constant strain on his body.
So they waited until he was five but still worked with him slowly.
