~ Ellie ~
Archer finished cooking about ten minutes later and we were both sitting at the island about to eat. I grabbed a large amount on my fork and I was about to take a big bite when I noticed that he was staring at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing." he replied, still staring at me with that insufferable smirk on his face. You know the one, in the movies and every cliche book ever where she does something cute and he loves it but he hides it with that smirk. The one smirk that all girls swoon over... except the only girl he wants and she's totally oblivious. Yeah. That one.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked, a little creeped out.
"Nothing, I've just never seen a girl eat that much." he replied with an amused smile.
"Well of course you haven't because the only girls you go for are stick thin and batshit crazy." I insulted him with a shrug as I took the bite that's been calling my name. But then I realized that he doesn't know it's me. "Or at least that's how you seem." I added, a mouth full of mac n cheese. Yes, finally the universe doesn't hate me... kind of. But I don't care. He bought it.
"Yeah..." he trailed off seeming a little ashamed. I opened my mouth to reply when Wyatt burst into the room on an angry rampage.
"Ellie! I was just calmly playing some video games when I get a call from August. He says that you have a boy over here and I don't like it. I don't like it AT ALL!" he shouted the last part, pointing an accusing finger at me with a huff. "HI!" he yelled at Archer angrily as if he didn't want to be rude. Oh no. Wyatt was going to blow my cover.
"You. Other room. Now." I seethed as I pointed to the entrance of the kitchen.
"NO! I am NOT leaving you alone with-" I cut him off.
"Wyatt, I'll be there in a minute to deal with you. Now go." I stated in a warning tone. At that point, he didn't argue because I gave him the look. My look. The look that says 'I will destroy you and everything you own if you do not do what I say', the look he is afraid of. He let out a long sigh as he reluctantly turned around and left the room.
"Sorry about him. He's an idiot..." I trailed off with a nervous chuckle.
"Then why are you friends with him?" Archer asked skeptically.
"Because he's my idiot... Anyway, I'll be right back." I assured him as I sighed and walked to where Wyatt was. As I rounded the corner I didn't just see Wyatt. I saw Wyatt, Mason, Ben AND Toby all standing there looking very worried at me.
"What?" I asked. Ben's eyebrows shot up in shock.
"Did you not see who is sitting at your kitchen table?" he replied as they all nodded in agreement. I let out a defeated sigh.
"Yes... I saw. But he doesn't know it's me and I don't want him to find out. If he does, who knows what'll happen. Besides, I wanna get some answers and there's no way that'll ever happen if he knows so you four are going to have to suck it up, put on a happy face and try not to punch him in the nose. Okay?" I asked, taking a deep breath. They all glanced around at each other in thought until Wyatt spoke up.
"Okay. Just be careful." he agreed reluctantly. A wide smile spread across my face as I practically jumped on them.
"Thank you for understanding!" I exclaimed as I held them tighter.
"Okay... Ellie... Air... Need..." Mason choked out since he was the one getting crushed the most. After one last squeeze I finally let them all go.
"Oh, oxygen! How I missed you!" he exclaimed dramatically. We all laughed as Toby playfully punched his shoulder.
"Oh suck it up she can't be that strong." Toby said lazily. Is that a challenge I hear? A smirk slowly spread across my face. His smiled faded as he began to realize what I was planning.
