Her mom is Ember, a BloodClan cat. Ember realized that Blackpaw probably would not survive the night, since Blackpaw was the runt of the litter. Ember suckled Blackpaw for a little bit, then carried her out into the forest. Ember laid her down in a rose bush, after taking off a few thorns. Ember left her there. A ThunderClan cat later found her and took her there. That's where Blackpaw named herself Blackpaw. So there you have it. Now you're not confused.
