I walked into the office with my head pointed to the ground. My twin sister on the other hand, held her head up high and confidently walked in. We sat down on the uncomfortable seats made solely for students as Chief Dolson greeted us and sat down as well.

"April, Camilla, I'm sure you know what day it is." he said sadly.

Of course we knew what day it was. How could we forget our parents death on our birthday. Every year we were called in, told how much they helped the country, and how sorry everyone was now that they're gone. April looked down and nodded, starting to prepare herself for the yearly speech.

"Girls."

We both looked up to see the unfamiliar voice. It belonged to a woman who was slender and petite with wild blonde hair. She smoothed out her jacket and gave us a small smile.

"I have something for the both of you." she said in a hushed tone.

Chief Dolson looked relived when she handed us a letter, as if it stressed him out. Whatever it was, we followed orders and didn't open them right away. I wanted to open them right away but unfortunately, April made me wait.

"What do you think is in here?" I asked her.

We were further away from the office and closer to the dorms, so I figured now was as good of a time as any.

April shrugged. "Maybe we're being forced out of the academy because we suck."

"We do not suck." I countered. "What if we get to graduate early!"

She shushed me and the walk became silent. The dorms weren't too far from the office but it felt like forever, due to the silence. I wanted to talk to her about our parents but, every time I brought it up, she would change the subject instantly. It had been ten years since the massacre that took Mom and Dad. She and I were the only survivors and we can't help but think about what ifs. When we were younger, April and I believed it was our fault that our parents were gone. We became reckless, breaking the law all the time. Chief Dolson always bailed us out because he felt like we were suddenly his responsibility. Eventually, he brought us to the Police Academy in Southern California. This is our fourth year here as Cadets.

"Camilla!" April screeched.

I stopped and looked at her. She had a wild look in her eyes as she pointed in front of me. I cautiously diverted my eyes before screaming. I backed up slowly until I reached April and clutched her arm.

"Close your eyes." she instructed.

I nodded, shut my eyes, and held on tighter. We began to walk sideways and around the monstrosity. April used to tease me for having an "irrational" fear of spiders. How could she blame me for being afraid of them? They have eight legs and at least six eyes and fangs. I don't care how many people tell me they're good for the environment. I want them all dead.

"We're here." April said softly.

I opened my eyes one at a time and inspected for spiders.

"Already done C." she reassured me.

I gave her a small smile and rushed inside. Following behind me, April closed the door and jumped on the couch.

"Let's get down to business." I said.

My twin nodded and began to open the letter. Looking over her shoulder, I read the letter silently with her.

Dear Jones sisters,

We've been watching you since the day you were born. You two especially gained our attention the day your parents died. Your actions and bravery that day made both of you candidates for our agency. Today marks the ten year anniversary of the event and we need to see you. One of our agents gave you this letter today. We need you to meet with her. Don't worry, she'll find you. Dispose of this letter instantly.

See you two soon.

"Well that's creepy." I laughed but soon stopped when I saw April's brood expression. "What is it?" I asked her.

She shook her head and looked at me. "Camilla, they had to know Mom and Dad."

"You're right. But how could they know Mom or Dad? They were always at work."

April glared at me. "You idiot, they would always go on 'business trips' remember?"

I nodded and let April have her time to shine. She would go on these tangents about her theories, which could be about anything. Honestly, it was extremely annoying but I let her ramble.

"So Mom and Dad would always go on their fake trips together. Maybe they were secret agents? Like spies or something. They could've been partners. That would make sense." She began to pace around our tiny room. "But now why would they want us? We're reckless and probably would've dropped out if it wasn't for Chief Dolson. Chief Dolson! He knew both Mom and Dad and he was there when we got the letter! He's tied to this somehow."

"Calm down there April. We should just take it easy and wait for the crazy blonde to find us. That's the point of it being a secret agency." I took out my lighter and grabbed the letter from April.

"Wait I didn't get to look at it for anymore clues or-" I flicked the lighter and held it close to the letter. "Camilla stop! We can't." I set the paper ablaze.

"First rule of the academy. Always follow orders."

The letter turned to ash as it hit the floor. All we had to do now, was wait.
