Christina, Adam, CeeLo, and Blake were all on the set of The Voice and were anxiously waiting for the blind auditions to begin and add new members to their teams to try to win this season. Many of the judges were working on their own albums outside of The Voice, and Christina decided to collaborate with one of the judges for her new Album, “Lotus” which is being released November 13th. “Hey Blake,” Christina called over to her left. “Would you mind meeting me backstage during commercial for a sec? I want to ask you something.” “Um, sure Christina, tell me whenever,” Blake said, a bit confused as to why she wanted to talk to him. Minutes later after the blind auditions started, Christina received a text from Adam that read, “Keeping secrets from CeeLo and I, are we?” After reading the text, she realized it was commercial and whisked Blake away backstage; forgetting to reply back to Adam.

“So, what’s up, Christina? Why did you wanna talk with me? Did I do something…?” Blake asked, getting nervous. “No,no! You didn’t do anything! Hahaa! The only thing I was going to ask if was if you wanted to do a duet with me for my new album! I thought it would be nice to add just a tad of country to ‘Lotus’ because I’m trying out new things. It would be great if you could consider it!” Christina said. “Consider it done!” Blake replied, complimented at how she asked him. “Oh, really?! Thanks, Blake! Really! It means a lot!” she said. Christina leaned in and hugged him when Adam walked backstage and saw. Christina and Blake released and Adam stood there awkwardly. “Sorry, guys, I was just going to the bathroom.” He said. “It’s fine, Adam. So um, Blake do you wanna discuss this over dinner or something tonight?” Christina asked, turning to Blake. “Yeah, sure that’d be fine,” he replied, returning back onto the stage. “So I take it that you’re not coming over for dinner at my house tonight?” Adam said disappointed. “No, I’m sorry, babe! I gotta meet with Blake! Can we get a rain check for maybe…this Saturday?” Christina said. “Sure,” Adam said as he kissed her forehead and walked to the bathroom.

After a long day of filming, the day was over and Christina and Blake walked offstage together engaged in conversation, neglecting to even say goodbye to CeeLo or Adam. Adam frowned watching them walk away together and felt a little jealous, and CeeLo could see the look on his face. “Adam, you’re not getting jealous, are you man? I mean, she’s still yours, you know that. She’s not the type of girl who would just toss you or any guy aside,” he said. “Yeah, I know. It’s just that since she’s been working on ‘Lotus’ so much, I never get to see her anymore, you know?” Adam replied. “Yeah, I know how hard it is, but I see it in the way you look at each other, your love is going to last,” CeeLo said, patting him on the back. “Thanks, CeeLo,” Adam said as they both went their separate ways.

At dinner, Christina and Blake shared mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, while Blake ordered a steak and Christina ordered a Bacon and Cheese Burger. “Oh my God!” Christina said, “These mozzarella sticks are so hard to just keep in my mouth!” “Hahaaa! You do realize how wrong that sounded, right Christina?” Blake laughed. “Oh shut up!” Christina said as she tried her best to eat up the cheese before it stretched out too long after taking a bite. Their entrees came and Christina took a big bite into her juicy burger. “Wow, I never really thought you’d be a big burger type of girl, no offense of course!” Blake said. “Oh, well, none taken! I like burgers once in a while, but whenever a burger has bacon, I just have to have it!” Christina chuckled. “So about this duet, what are you think?” he asked. “Well, I was thinking that it can have a mixture of the catchy songs of country; songs with a really good guitar solo and some really nice drum beats. I know your songs have those components, so working with you definitely is going to help!” Christina said. “Oh, okay, so the country type genre you’re going for is the ‘rock and roll’ type of country, am I right?” Blake asked. “Yeah, you’re right,” she replied.

After talking about different ideas for a song between eating for about an hour and forty five minutes, Blake looked at the time. “Oh, dang, Christina, it’s getting a little late, is it okay if we-” “Oh yeah!” Christina cut him off looking at the time also, “We can just continue this tomorrow or something! Sorry for keeping you out so late! Tell Miranda I’m sorry! Hahaa!” “Will do! And it’s completely fine!” Blake said. The two both split the bill, left a tip, then went their separate ways. Back in Adam’s house, Adam was just laying on his couch looking for something decent to watch, or something that would take his mind off of Christina and his jealousy but to no avail. With a sigh, he turned off his TV, and went upstairs to his bedroom. He lay down on his bed, looked to the right and thought, “She would be laying here right now if it wasn’t for Blake…God, Adam! Stop it! It’s just business! You don’t own her! Well technically, I do! No, Adam stop!” His thoughts were contradicting the others, giving Adam a headache. He looked at the time, “11:45p.m.” “Okay,’ he said aloud, “I’ll just sleep now, I guess.” And he did so.

The whole week of filming The Voice, Blake and Christina spent every free minute with each other discussing the duet. Adam and CeeLo were often left alone together on the stage while Blake and Christina would go to their trailers during breaks and write lyrics, melodies, etc. Christina was growing more and more distant from Adam, making his jealousy grow, but his loneliness grow even more. It was Friday and the filming have just ended and the two took off to the studio and planned out the song. On the way home, Adam texted Christina for the first time this whole week and typed, “Hey, don’t forget about our dinner tomorrow night! Miss you! –Adam” During the time he sent that text, Christina’s phone was in her purse and was vibrating, but failed to be answered. Blake and Christina were working on melodies, and once Adam didn’t get a reply, he knew she would forget. A few hours later, once Blake and Christina wrapped everything up, they then went home and Christina arrived at her doorstep at 10:45pm. She walked upstairs into her bedroom and took out her phone and lay in her bed, not bothering to change out of her clothes. Her phone screen read, “1 new message: Adaaaam! <3” she smiled at the sight of his contact name in her phone and opened the message. She read it and texted back. “Hey babe! I’m sorry I texted back 3 hours after you sent this to me, but I won’t forget! I’m excited to see you tomorrow! Love you! –Chrissy.” After an exhausted day, Christina then hopped out of bed, put her PJ’s on, and slept the night away. Adam, on the other hand, had been waiting up for Christina’s response, and finally smiled when she texted back. Satisfied with her response, he too fell asleep in anticipation of tomorrow nights’ dinner.

It was 8:00pm, and Adam just left his house and sent a text to Christina saying that he was coming over. He arrived at her house and as she opened the door, he immediately held her in a tight embrace met with a passionate kiss. “Woah! What was that for? Someone put a little too much sugar in his tea today!” Christina joked, a little wobbly after the kiss. “It’s not the sugar, it’s you! I’ve missed you, babe!” He said, hugging her again, but this time, he picked her up and spun her around. “Hahaa! Aww! Honey, I missed you too!” She said once he put her back onto the floor. Christina closed the door and followed Adam as he sat down in the kitchen. “I ordered takout for dinner. Is that gonna be okay?” she said, grabbing two beers out of the fridge for themselves. “Yeah, that’s totally fine!” he said, but Christina didn’t notice. Once she sat down on the chair, she pulled out her phone and began to text Blake about when the next time they can start recording. Her texting was interrupted by Adam saying, “Heeeeelloooo? Are you even listening to me, Christina?” “What? Yeah, I was, you were…um… talking about how you missed me…” she said, still engaged in her texting session. “No, I was talking about all of us on The Voice and how we’re so close too each other. You know, you’ve been spending an awful lot of time with Blake and it’s really starting to bug me; maybe we’re getting too close to each other.” Adam said. Christina looked up and said, “What do you mean?” “You know damn well what I mean Christina! We haven’t been able to meet up with each other ever since you’ve been working with Blake! This is the first time we’re actually having dinner together all week, and yet, you’re still not focused! You’ve been neglecting me and not to mention not making time for us, and it’s really pissing me off!” Christina was about to reply when she felt a cold tear from her eye fall down her cheek. “And you never pay attention to us anymore! The only way we communicate is through text because you’re constantly on your phone texting Blake! You’re either with him or texting him, but one way or the other, I’m not even in the picture!” He began to yell, and Christina could tell that he was getting angrier by the second. “And another thing! It’s like we don’t even mean anything anymore! Are my feelings about you all a joke?! Is this relationship just a game to you?! God, you always say that love can last, but you know what, if true love can last, then maybe this isn’t true love! Maybe we’re not meant to be with each other!” Christina then began to cry non-stop, and tried desperately to speak and calm Adam down, but he got up, took his jacket, and started to walk towards the door. “W-wait! Adam! Please! Don’t go!” Christina said, chasing after him. “Why shouldn’t I go, Christina?! You know if I left that it would be so much easier for you to text Blake with me not around! I have no idea why I even-whatever. I’m done. I’m tired of this.” Adam said as he turned around and put his hand on the doorknob and prepared to leave. “Adam! Please! Stop! I’m sorry! For everything! Just please!” she yelled, but the only thing that she received as a reply was a slam from the door and a cold chill as she slid down the wall, hugged her knees, and cried what was left of her heart for hours.
