Christina sat there, her heart torn in two. “I can’t believe this is happening…” she thought to herself. Her eyes were blood shot and she was out of breath from crying uncontrollably. She could barely move; she was too numb from the pain of what just happened. She hugged her knees as she cried even more and didn’t bother to wipe away her tears. She longed for Max to be there to comfort him, but he was at Christina’s sisters’ house. She needed someone to hug her, to love her, to tell her everything’s going to be alright. Her thoughts were racing, telling her lies. “You’re not worth it. You’re a piece of shit. Why did you put him through that? You’re such a jerk. You don’t fucking deserve him.” She began to cry even more after believing the thoughts in her mind. She got up after two hours of crying for the first time and went into the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror and began to cry even more. Just the mere sight of her red eyes and inflamed cheeks made her start to bawl. She just couldn’t help it. She took some tissue and began to try and wipe away her tears, but they kept piling on, so it was useless. She was about to take a long, hot bath to get her mind off of the night’s events when the doorbell rang. “Shit. Should I just pretend like I’m not here? Fuck! The light’s are on. Great job, Christina.” She walked out of the bathroom and made sure to put on some sunglasses before she answered the door.
“Blake?” she said, with a nasal sound due to the inflammation in her nose from crying. “Hey! Ohh…I’m sorry…Is this a bad time… I could leave! We could reschedule…this um…” Blake never finished his sentence because he saw Christina begin to bite her lip in hopes of holding back her tears, but to no avail. She began to cry even more; the sight of Blake reminding her of how everything Adam said was true. How she was spending so much time with him instead. “Christina…honestly…do you want to be alone right now? I can really leave…” Blake asked, obliging that he could give her some privacy and reschedule. “Please…just please…stay.” Christina said as she took off her sunglasses. She covered her eyes with her hands as her tears began to stream down her cheeks. Blake moved into her house and closed the door behind him. “I’m…so sorry…Blake…really…I’m so sorry…” she said between her violent sobs. “Hey…hey… everything’s all right…here let’s go to the couch and you can tell me everything that happened when you’re ready…okay?” Christina couldn’t respond, resulting Adam leading her into the living room and held her as she cried onto his shoulder on the couch. “I just…I’m so…I’m sorry…You shouldn’t….have to see me…like this…” Christina said, trying to make herself stop crying. “Christina, we’re only human. We don’t always have to keep it together, you know? Don’t stop yourself from crying. Doing that will only make the pain settle in more, and that’s not good. Not for anyone. Everything’s going to be okay…”Blake said as he began to rub her arm. She moved in closer and began to cry into the crook of his neck.
Christina, after about two hours of crying into Blake’s sleeve, calmed down. “Do you want me to get you a glass of water? It helps, it really helps.” Blake suggested. “That’d be great, Blake. Thank you so much.” Christina said as she wiped her tears off with her sleeve. Blake got up and went into her kitchen to get her a glass of water. Christina couldn’t help but notice how nurturing Blake has been the entire time. He lay motionless on the couch as Christina cried, only moving to move her bangs out of her eyes or rub her back. Blake came back with the water and gave it to Christina, as she took little sips from it to help regain some sense of control. “I bet your ass must be numb from sitting here with me for two hours.” She joked, smiling for the first time in what felt like ages. “Hahaa, no, my butt’s good, thanks!” Blake said in response. “Do you want to tell me what happened? If you don’t, I completely understand. I don’t want to obtrude.” He said. “No…um…well…I just haven’t been spending a lot of time…with…Adam…and he pissed off atme.” She said, taking more sips form her water to hold back more tears. “Ooh…I’m sorry for coming between you and Adam, Christina. I really am. I didn’t m-” Christina cut him off by saying, “No, Blake, it’s not your fault. It’s mine…God, I’m so stupid! My priorities are so fucked up!” she began to say. “Now, Christina, don’t get mad at yourself! Especially not when you’re a beautiful, sexy, young, and intelligent woman! Any guy would be lucky to have you! Even me! Don’t lower yourself like that, Christina…you’re too good for that.” Blake said. Blake began to notice her beautiful blue eyes. Even after 4 hours of continuous crying, they still remained the clear, crystal blue he’s known for so long. He then noticed her lips; how luscious they are whether she’s wearing red lipstick or just has it natural. Everything about this woman was beautiful in Blake’s eyes, and whoever didn’t see that must have been blind. He looked deep into her gleaming eyes-but wait, her eyes began to move closer! He felt a hand on his neck pulling him closer to Christina, but didn’t hesitate to stop. He saw her blue eyes disappear under her eyelids as they closed, and Blake did the same. Then, in one fluid motion, he felt a rush through his whole body as he felt lips, luscious lips, pressed against his. It was a kiss! A kiss that began to increase with passion as time went on; their mouths never resting until they’ve had enough. They sat there, in complete bliss on the couch and let themselves go. They felt a connection, a deep connection, each time their lips touched and never wanted that to end. They released a couple of minutes later and looked at each other with shock in their eyes. “Oh my God…” they both said as they realized what they just did.
